The Doo-Wop Diner
Wednesday is the day we have been focusing on Doo-Wop music and that continues today … with a catch.
This will be the final Doo-Wop medley and there is, I think, a good reason for that. There are just so many times you can play the genre without repeating yourself ad nauseam. I will continue to incorporate select Doo-Wop songs into “oldies” medleys but they will be combined with standard 50s and 60s rock and roll.
And while I’m at it, I appreciate the recent comments regarding the Thursday Country music medleys, but here’s the bottom line. When I started my site 17 years ago, it was for the sole purpose of playing “oldies” (hence the name Streamingoldies) from the 50s, 60s and 70s.
Even giving up one day a week to play a completely different genre doesn’t fit the mission. It was my fault for venturing in that direction. I should never have done it. If you want country music (or strictly Doo-Wop), I’m sorry, but you’ll have to find them somewhere else … for the time being.
BECAUSE THERE IS SOME GOOD NEWS. I have added two new .coms to my burgeoning group of music domains (there are now ten of them); CountryStreaming and StreamingDooWop. Neither one is active at the moment (because I just bought them) but I will let you know when they are ready. Now all I have to do is find the time to put them together!
