Happy Monday!

It’s Monday. No moaning allowed. Hopefully the songs in this medley will bring back a few happy memories. πŸ™‚

We have a birthday, two requests (at least some folks were paying attention last Friday!), a Forgotten 45, a couple of backstories, and a LOT more!

Things ain’t like they used to be, love’s the only thing I see
Wings of life are taking flight from the darkness to the light.

I’m not doing as well as I have been, but I’m going to do these medleys as long as I can!
I don’t think there is (or ever was) a teenager who didn’t try to play Wipeout.

As usual a great group of songs and a great memory for me. Just imagine a couple hundred Boy Scouts singing for their breakfast. And the song was Piano Man. πŸ’•

Such a great grouping this morning! I actually listened twice, and worked in part of it with cleaning up outside a bit. Now that the snow is melting completely. I wanna work outside. I don’t wanna have to work inside! But I sure did have a good time taking three breaks and listening to your music Which made me sit down for a bit but also kept me jumping if you know what I mean. I don’t wanna lose my momentum. I loved all of it. I always loved Tom Petty, who is a favorite of my brothers, and I hadn’t heard the Queen song in a long time. I really loved Billy Joel, the piano man, whom I have seen in concert. He is so great anyway here we are at the end of a Monday, and looking forward to Tuesday. Always making a plan for the next day, that’s me! Ray, you’re the best! πŸ₯°

Killian and I had fun listening to this morning’s mix. You nailed it with Killian liking “Wipeout!” I told him of the days when everyone would grab a lunch box, stack of books, table top or get on our knees, banging on a chair! He made me play it (I still can!) and Killian’s labradoodle (Zag) was close by so I used him! He even loved it, but I did have to finish up on the table.
Killian’s second like was Billy Joel’s “Piano Man”. A little of a surprise for me. I thought that I would be alone liking that one.
Jimmy Clanton’s “Venus In Blue jeans” reminds me of my parents.
Thank you for playing one of Cream’s songs for me. Other songs I liked were “Elenore” and the last 2 by Tom Petty and The Rascals.
Thank you for getting us started today.
    We had a great time! ✌️…😍…πŸ˜‚& πŸ’•desire … πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ’•πŸ’•

I am so glad you two young fellas enjoyed the music! I had a feeling Killian would enjoy ‘Wipeout’. ❀
I am also surprised he enjoyed ‘Piano Man’.
I could be a very content man if I played nothing but Tom Petty. He and his band were so awesome.
I am very glad you two had fun! ❀❀

Will be going from newest to oldest to catch up on everything I missed while on vacation. Wipeout was a “Dirty Dancing” song at Christmas parties in the ’80s, after drinking of course! Loved Venus in Blue jeans. I remember back in the 60s, girls only wore cutoff jeans. When did jeans become everyday wear for everyone? Can you send me an update on your health? Might take me a while to get thru all the medleys. Peace, love and happiness to you as always, Ray.

Thank you, Pat, it’s nice to have you back! ❀
My health. Let’s see, I’ll just say it’s not great. I’ll be having surgery in mid-March to have a large tumor (malignant) removed from just below my left kidney. The after effects of the car accident in 2021 have now left me unable to walk. I am, in effect, house bound. I do have a health care service coming in to begin a long rehabilitation process. I also recently had a colonoscopy … well, sort of. I’m not supposed to be under anesthesia for too long so they had to cut the colonoscopy short. In the time they were doing their work, they found 16 polyps, thankfully all of them benign. I have to go back in mid-April to do it again.
All that said, I’m still doing music medleys so I’m happy πŸ™‚
