It’s Friday and that means it’s time for me to send you rockin’ into the weekend!

Today the focus is the spring of 1965 and the sounds that were playing on the radio. There are 4 acts from the U.S., 4 from England, one from Canada, and another from Australia. Yep, it’s an international medley!

Rock Factoid: Bob Dylan’s song was his first Top 40 hit in the United States, peaking at number 39 on the Billboard Hot 100. In addition, the song was used in one of the first “modern” promotional film clips, the forerunner of what was later known as the music video.

Rock Factoid #2: The record label for Chad Allan & The Expressions disguised their single by crediting it to “Guess Who?” as a publicity stunt to generate speculation that it was by a famous British Invasion band working incognito.
The band’s actual name was revealed a few months later, but radio DJs continued to announce the artist as “Guess Who?”. This prompted the group to change their name to The Guess Who after Allan left and was replaced by Burton Cummings.
