While “growing up”–yes we are close in age– these guys were favs of mine. The movies about Buddy and Ritchie were not bad. Likewise,”The Day the Music Died” was awesome. Beginning with the sophomore classes of 72 -75 I did a sono collage of “The Day the Music Died with slides of that time–including scenes of Springfield, kids, places, marching band etc to teach the motif of Romanticism along with slides and music of Western Civilization in the 18-19th centuries.I wonder if any of “my kids” remember? The students also did their interpretations of the era. I remember Donna Martin did a piece to “I am a Rock” Did you see the Music almost did die in Camden ME where 72 year old Don McClean was arrested for domestic violence. He has a tour coming up which may have to wait. I think it is to Australia. Sorry if I rambled, listening to the music “made me do it”(how often do you suppose I heard that excuse?
