Today In Music History

Today it’s not about the mystery of the theme, it’s about history! Every song in this medley is connected to February 19. We have four birthdays, two deaths, five songs that reached Number One on this date, a Beatles tune (because why not?) and a very special wedding anniversary!

It’s an eclectic mix, for sure, but it is going to put a big smile on your face! 🙂

Thank you, Bruce. I’m very glad you had a beautiful morning. It was 1 degree above zero here.
As always, I am very happy you enjoyed the music.

Little recognition of the Focus or Falco selections
A category in my word search game was Linda Ronstadt songs and You’re No Good was one of them! Love those coincidences

5:25am 2-29-25 Good Morning Ray, Ted & I are a day late but we didn’t scoot during Falco & I told Ted when I heard 1973 you had one for him. After it played I asked him if he had recognized it & he said no, so you expanded our song listening again. We enjoyed yesterday’s music today & are going to try to listen to todays before Ted has to pick up his 2 youngest grandkids who are 7 & 13 as it’s school vacation week for them. Thank you, once again, for the morning music 🙂 🙂

Thank you, Lee & Ted, for not scooting! ❤ ❤
I’m glad I was able to teach you both a “new” oldie. Since it was a #9 hit in ’73, I just assumed everyone remembered it.
      Have a great day!

Well, it’s Thursday, but I’m listening to Wednesday, which I didn’t get to yesterday! It was really a spectacular day all day watching the snow come down very heavily. Made me think of my days of long ago in Vermont. What we just accepted is something ordinary, was so very different here in NC. I loved all of this but you know what I appreciate more than some people probably do is I love the back stories and the interesting facts about songs. Though I remember words to songs, I very often did not have any idea about the backstory of a particular song. So I’m adding a wrinkles to my brain! I love the Linda Ronstadt song, “you’re no good. “ also loved, Elvis, Nielsen, Smokey Robinson, etc. this was really a nice medley! Until the next time, you’re the best!🥰

      Thanks, Sandy! ❤
It’s a funny thing about including a backstory to these songs. Back in the old days on “History Lessons” I would occasionally
include them in written form, but I never thought listeners would enjoy hearing them. Guess I was wrong!
I love, love, LOVE your enthusiasm! ❤
