1968 From The Archives!

FROM THE ARCHIVES…

Today we celebrate the incredible music of 1968! One of the most tumultuous years of the 20th century also produced some of its greatest music.

Yeah, I know I mention “Throwback Thursday,” but use your imagination and pretend I didn’t say it!  As I was putting this playlist together, it quickly dawned on me that time constraints were going to make it impossible to cover it all, so this medley is just a short example of what was playing on radios across America.

“Those were the days my friend, we thought they’d never end.” Isn’t that the truth? Wow…what a medley this is! You outdid yourself Ray! I was thinking, as I was listening, that I heard all of these songs as a kid on the same two FM stations…WPTR-Albany, NY and WTRY-Troy, NY. What an eclectic mix of genres. Well done sir!

Thank you so much, Pat!❤ This was one of those medleys where I cold have gone on forever! By the way, as a young guy, I listened to most of these on WPTR in Albany and WKBW in Buffalo!

Many memories connected to every one of these songs. WPTR and WKBW were the go to stations for many of us. If I remember correctly KBW was difficult to pick up at night when they were required to reduce their broadcast power.
I am sure this medley could have been hours long.
What a great period of time for music lovers.
These day my first cup of coffee is required to get my motor running but I still enjoy the occasional bike ride. Last year my brother and I rode to the Keys and stayed for nearly a week. It was a bucket list thing for me. The beauty and experience of riding the Seven Mile Bridge was extraordinary.
Thanks for bringing this one back Ray!

Marty, thank you for that memory-filled commentary! ❤
We had the best music. It was such a special time to be an older teen.

I was just 15, but well into my music listening years ago. I remember spending hour upon hour in my bedroom listening to my records and transistor radio.

These are all great picks! Just as Pat & Marty said…just a really great time to grow up.

Killian said he wanted to take off the day listening to music and do gaming. Oh well.

    I listened to it over and over …. Tax day. ✌️…❤️…😀 & ❤️ 🙏🙏🙏
