There are no examples of me singing a duet with a famous rocker like there was yesterday, BUT there is plenty of good stuff, and all of it is based on this date in history!
We have two birthdays, 3 deaths, a major winner at the Grammy Awards, songs recorded or released on this date, and several very interesting rock and roll factoids (or you can call them each a backstory)!
It all adds up to 41 minutes of memories, and that reminds me. There are fewer and fewer hits to this site. Is it because the medleys have become too long? I can always make them shorter again. Is it because I talk too much? I can easily cut way back. Is it because the music has become too old? I can, I suppose, say goodbye to the 50s and 60s and bring this site exclusively into the 70s and 80s.
To be honest, I don’t expect very much feedback on these questions. It would be helpful and appreciated if I did, but I am not going to hold my breath.

A Very Tuneful Tuesday!

Beatles – Turtles
Badfinger – Cher
Dixie Chicks – Sheryl Crow
Gene Vincent – Ronettes
Dave Clark Five – Whitney Houston
Good morning Ray!
To your questions…I think that you always provide a great mix of memories and they are not too long. For me, I love the 50’s and 60’s mixes and they never get “old” like me…lol! Your commentary is excellent and fun! I don’t always get a chance to listen, but it has nothing to do with your content or how it is produced. Also, I don’t always comment. Hope that helps.
Pat, thank you. It helps a great deal! ❤️
This was a nice tuneful Tuesday! I liked all the songs, although I do prefer 50s and 60s music. For after all, that’s what we started with and what I consider the oldies! As far as your questions are concerned that answer is part of it, and I do not think that any of these medleys are too long. I love listening to them. The difference between a 30 minute and a 40 minute is really of no consequence to me. I just love listening. I believe that’s what it was created for, no matter the length! As far as fewer hits on the website are concerned, for me personally, it has to do with when I can listen, and if in fact, something interrupts my day. Cause sometimes when that happens, I just never get back to it and it rolls into the next day. Perhaps, and I’m only guessing, some folks just have a different slate of duties that day. One thing I wanna point out is this I personally love listening to anything that you have to say between songs. Like I love the back stories, the interesting facts about an artist or the song or something related. It is always of interest to me to know something different that I didn’t know before. And personally, I love your voice. So I’m gonna listen no matter what I think you know that I’ve gone back many times and listened over again or caught up. Thank you for all your efforts. They are so very much appreciated! And – – “you’re the best“ 🥰
Thank you, Sandy! ❤
Believe me, I know where you stand! You have been so supportive and I apologize for not expressing enough how that makes me feel. I have never been sure what it is about my voice that you love, but I am very glad you do.
You are, young lady, the very best! ❤
Ditto to all things good about the music and comments by Ray! I love to hear your voice. Brings back “ Radio Man” in you! Thank You🥰
Thank you, Nancy! ❤
There are days when it’s difficult to be “Radio Nan’ because the cancer tires me out, but I’m good most of the time … and wen I’m not, I can fake it with the best of them!
Have I ever told you how much I miss the old days If not, I’m telling you now!
I am happy hearing what ever you do, because I appreciate the thought that goes in to them. I sometimes get too busy to listen, but thatcan happen with evereybody
Thank you, Tim ❤
You of all people should know what goes into “work” such as this, so I certainly do appreciate your comments.
Thank you!
Question #1, #2 & #3 The answers are all NO from Ted & Me. So, hi Ray 🙂
It was a very tuneful Tuesday. I did not recall the 2nd Beatles song but was reminded of one of my Fb memories for today “listening to music uses all your brain, one of the few activities that does.” Also, Ted & I took his children to see the Dixie Chicks back when we were all younger. After, as they were getting ready to leave, Ted took the camera over where they were getting on to their tour bus. He says they posed for pictures, visited with people & were very, very, very nice. Hope I haven’t told you this story before & thank you for the music & the memories 🙂
Thank you, Lee & Ted ❤❤
I am very grateful to know what you like about the site.
I also loved the Dixie Chicks memory!
Don’t ever stop with your backstories your voice makes the show!! And I like all the music and sometimes I will stop and go back!! I like what you do!!
Love ya
Thank you, Fred! ❤
I have never doubted your support and I am so grateful for it.
I am (and always have been) proud to call you my friend.
Love ya! ❤
I LOVE everything about this site and I know, first hand how much you put into everything you do. It was the same at WCFR. You make it look and sound like it’s so easy but we both know the planning, programming and execution is no easy task! Everything that you put up on here is done FOR US …. people love to hear your voice, we love the back stories/history and we love the carefully selected tunes you are so generous to dedicate.
I am disappointed that more people didn’t recognize the special moments that meant something to YOU like yesterdays interview and song with rock legend FREDDIE Cannon!! That was HUGE … a local radio station DJ, hometown “boy” interviewed Freddie “Boom Boom” Cannon!
🙂
Thank you, Rose! ❤
I will admit I was a bit disappointed the “duet” seemed to be missed yesterday, but I guess that’s life. I love your very kind words about my efforts, but never forget the huge role you played during the WCFR days. It was a lot more than a one-man show. It was teamwork and I had the best partner! ❤
Great medley
Lots of diversity, backstories and sometimes unpredictable choices
Not too long, short or old
As baby bear said just right
Your medleys are a 30-50 minute refuge from this very disturbing world
Thank you, Mary Helen ❤
I’m not sure there is enough music available to be a refuge from this world, but I’m going to continue to do my best.
I do appreciate you sharing your thoughts!
Morning Ray, Karen & I look forward to your medleys regardless of the year the songs were released or became popular. Each song stokes a memory from days gone by and many were our favorites from that era.
The snippets of information you share are always appreciated and often times are facts not known to us.
I believe many of the comments already made reflect our feelings about the medleys.
We may have become spoiled by you as we always know the music is there for us. Often we may not listen to a medley until later in the day or even a few days later if we are traveling. The medleys are great for road trips! Again, we may be spoiled knowing we can listen at almost anytime we prefer.
The length of the medleys is not an issue for us as we are retired. We enjoy hearing your voice and comments, always.
Please keep us on your list of active listeners
Marty and Karen, thank you so much for that beautiful commentary. ❤❤
Both of you have been so supportive and I won’t forget that!
great medley although I didn’t recognize a couple of them. I always listen to your medley’s even though I don’t comment every time ..
I love hearing the stories behind the songs and your voice …
Don’t stop what you do … we all love you!
Stay safe and warm my friend!
XXOO
Thank you, Penny! ❤
I KNOW you listen and I KNOW what you like! I am not the least bit concerned about whether you comment or not. I KNOW you are there for me and that’s enough! ❤
I don’t think you talk too much, especially when you are giving us a backstory! You know I like longer than 30 min. I guess because I am WAY younger than the rest of the group(nudge, nudge, wink, wink) but if you lost songs from the 50s, that would not bother me. As for hits to the site, I usually access directly from the email link and sometimes forget to react through FB. I don’t know if that makes a difference or not. But I do always look forward to your music every morning. ❤️
Thank you, Teresa! ❤️
If you access this site through an email link, that’s just fine.
I can’t think of a single time you have failed to react on FB, and I appreciate that!
By the way, I am very impressed that you choose to hang out with those of us who are WAY older than you! 😉
Hello Ray, I love listening to the medleys. They are not too long. And I especially enjoy hearing your voice, I love knowing the back stories of the songs.
I feel bad that I don’t get to listen as often as I use to. Many days that I am not working, my husband works from home, and it makes it harder to listen. I love being able to crank up the volume, while I am listening. I appreciate all that you do for us!
Thank you, Donna! ❤️
I appreciate your input. It’s going to help me plan ahead!
Don’t feel bad about anything. You have always been great!
Hi Ray,
Your tunes are perfect as they come to us! Life has gotten in the way recently, but we’re getting back on track, enjoying all of your wonderful work providing great memories!
Thanks!
Thank you so much, Terry! ❤️
I know life gets in the way, but I never want anyone to feel bad about missing a medley. We all need to focus on what matters the most. That said, I do sincerely appreciate your support!
I’m sure that you already know how Killian and I feel. We agree with many before us. 1. Not too long and we doubt that has anything to do with less “hits” on the site. 2. Not your telling us about songs, artists & history. That is truly a big “draw” for us. 3. We doubt very much it’s the “too old” aspect. For me the 50’s might seem old, but I do in fact remember my parents playing them and that brings back a lot of fond memories. For Killian the 90’s and early 2000’s are old!…and he loves as many of the older ones as the newer ones.
I believe it has much more to do with available time to listen or especially to react with a comment here or on Facebook.
As far as today’s Medley:
I enjoyed the Turtles’ “Happy Together” and Badfinger’s “Come & Get It”.
Killian picked Gene Vincent’s “Be Bop A-Lula” (Need I say why? 😂LOL) and the Dave Clark Five’s “Any Way You Want It” (The drum and beat.)
We both enjoyed the Ronettes’ “Be My Baby” and, of course, Whitney Houston’s “All At Once”. (Killian said she was just a baby when she died!)
✌️…😘…😂…&💕 🙏🙏🙏
My boys, thank you so much! ❤️❤️
Jim, I am so grateful our paths crossed and I am blessed to have been introduced to Killian.
You raise some very interesting thoughts. I certainly appreciate you taking the time to do so.
I love what you play and when you need to fake it then fake it. Peace, love and happiness. Aleeta
Thank you, Aleeta ❤️
And anything else your heart desires!
Ray, what you do is awesome. I could listen to you and your show 24/7. So said, carry, my friend. Yes, it takes me out of this troubled world and into my happy place. Your music and my quilting will carry me through. I am a 50s 60s girl, but I will tolerate the hard rock. Glad you play songs you detest (I love Cher and Bang Bang) as the world would be pretty dull if we all only listened to the same things. So mix it up, and we’ll be hear singing along!😛
Thank you, Bonnie! ❤️
I so appreciate your positive response. If you promise to keep listening, I promise to keep on doing what I’m doing … and I’ll even throw in a Cher song every now and then! ❤️
Ray, you always have a great mix and I love your music just as it is ❤️🤗
Thank you, Jo ❤️
I truly do appreciate your input! ❤️
