The 12 Days: Day 1

And so it begins! The 12 Days of Christmas Medleys start today and will run through Christmas Eve!

Today’s medley begins with something I recorded 19 years ago while working at WCFR in Springfield, VT. I’ll grant you it never reached the sales level to qualify for a gold record but it has always been well received here, and for me, that means a lot more!

While today’s medley is more on the “traditional” side, there’s no need to worry if you think the “novelty” songs are over. Not by a long shot!

So it begins, the 12 days of Christmas, and I loved all of your selections, including the opener with the wonderful Santa Christmas story that you narrated. It should’ve had a gold record! I think my favorite song on here might’ve been Vince Gill just because I love Finn skills voice. But this was a wonderful selection is going to get me motivated. Thank you so much for always caring year-round for your audience—us!!! You’re the best! 🎄🎅🏻⛄️❄️❤️🥰

Thank you, Sandy. I’m afraid my recording wasn’t a hit, but I do appreciate your very kind words. I’d like to think there wasn’t a bad song in this medley today. I just wanted to jumpstart everyone’s Christmas sprit! 🎅🏻❄️❤️

Another beautiful morning 🌄 of Christmas medleys! However it becomes really difficult to enhance the Christmas spirit living 😕 in 🌞 sunny and warm Naples Florida. Where is the cold and snow and all the lights and Christmas 🎄 trees? I guess I will have to settle to sharing this beautiful time of the year with good friends and festive cheer🍻🥂…hoping that my children and friends up North are in good health and joyful spirits, and Santa 🎅 is good to them all!!!! Have a great day Ray and looking to tomorrow’s medley!!!!

Thank you, Bruce! I imagine it can be a little difficult to “get into the spirit” but I always say the spirit of Christmas lives in your heart so snow or no snow, you’re good to go! Have a wonderful day and stay safe!

Thank you, Pat ❤️ I don’t really understand why, but when I think about Christmas, I think about you. Yes, young lady, your gentle ways makes me think about old-fashioned holidays back home. I mean that.

Oh gpsh, I’m truly honored. Thanks, Ray. I really miss those days in Springfield. A much simpler time to grow up in.

          It certainly was, Pat.
I miss those days, too, but I wouldn’t want to trade place with people younger than us. I’d much rather be 74 with all of those memories.

Killian woke up to your story and loved hearing you telling it…asI did also!
We loved all of the songs that you chose and are looking forward to all of the rest.
It’s just such a great time of year, especially if lucky enough to have children around. Killia usually wants to immediately start looking for “Steve”, his elf that hides every night. But today, when he heard his friend, Ray’s, voice he wanted to listen before his search!
He’s such a joy to spend time with and you’re teaching him all about the early beginnings of today’s music.

Jim, that was one incredible commentary! I am so pleased (and flattered) to know Killian enjoyed my contribution, To think that I put Steve on hold while Killian listened to me first is something I am very proud of. I am so, so glad the Glimmer Twins enjoyed it all. ❤️❤️
