The Scratchy Throat Medley

Welcome to December! It’s the time of year to have joyous thoughts about Christmas, the coming new year, and of course, rock and roll memories! Christmas songs will be coming (you’ll get a “taste” this week, starting tomorrow), but right now, I am focused on the songs we all remember … some of them happily and others with regret.

By the way, the “nothing but Christmas songs” marathon starts next Monday and will run through Christmas Eve … and unlike radio stations you might listen to, there will be NO repeats!

In any event, I am super duper happy to be back, even with a scratchy throat. I suppose I could have hauled something out of the archives again, but I promised I would be back today and back I am!

Today we have several dedications, one kind of bad (remember that regret part?) song from 1965, a country music song, and a rare alternate version of a hit song.

Memories … That’s What We’re All About

I wish you could have seen Killian’s smile!😃
You certainly got us off to a super start!
Killian wants me to tell you that he’s getting surgery on his hips in about 2 months to help him. He’s going to be getting metal plates and screws so he will be bionic like his Papa!
He also said he hopes that your throat feels better very soon.
Thank you, Ray, for making our day!

Jim & Killian, thank you! ❤️❤️
I’m going to have Killian on my prayer list. By the way, there’s nothing wrong with being like Papa. They don’t come much better than him. ❤️
Thanks for thinking about my throat. t’s a temporary and minor nuisance. 🙂

Happy Monday to everyone! I loved Cat Stevens, and everything else on the list all the way down through to the Animals! Who doesn’t love House of the rising Sun? I’m with you, Killian, I love it. I have played it in my car, so many times with the volume up to obscene, and can never get enough of it. Do you know when you contain music in a small space but you’ve got speakers coming at you from everywhere, it’s the best! Thanks for all this Ray, you truly are the best! Hope that sore throat goes away. 🎄⛄️🎅🏻❤️

I hadn’t played that song for a long, long time, primarily because you can’t stand it. However, a lot of people DO enjoy it so I figured you should get some of the “credit” for it being absent for so long. 🙂

My first thought was that Temptations song could NOT have been the 1st Motown song to win a Grammy, but then I remembered that Beyance was nominated for something like 6 Grammys for her country album. Totally crazy. Anyhow some great music today. Love Toby Keith’s snipes at snobby ladies (especially How Do You Like Me Now?} LOL

      Thank you, Pat ❤️
Beyonce gets multiple nominations for every album she releases. It doesn’t matter if the recording is good or not. She gets nominated just because she’s Beyonce.
I could play Toby Keith all day long!
