The Day After Medley

It is finally over! Some of my candidates won and some lost. I’m sure the same can be said for you.

The first few songs are devoted to the 2024 election and then I get back to what I usually do … play your memories!

It ends with a message you might not want to miss.

Memories … That’s What We’re All About

Play buttons are on the left … Volume sliders are on the right

Let’s Get Back To The Memories!

Mark Knopfler & Van Morrison
Pink Floyd – Animals
Rolling Stones – Bob Dylan

I guess, happy morning after is appropriate! This was a great medley. All of the songs had me connected to what transpired yesterday and last evening. I too was awake until just about 4 o’clock this morning. I saw your message come in and I started to respond then I thought what am I doing? I must be an idiot. But I am thrilled with the outcome of the election, and I am very hopeful for the new direction that we will be taking in America. I’m sure there are people who are not happy, and if they will just step back for a moment and think about the good for all, it might make them feel a little better. Thank you for this Ray, and I hope that you’re going to have a peaceful, easy next 2 to 3 weeks. Look forward to hearing from you when you come back! You’re the best! 🥰🇺🇸

Thank you, Sandy. It was a long night for sure, and I have to admit I was really quite shocked at how easily the Republican party rolled over the Democrats. I just wanted a winner before 4:00 so I could put together a medley, LOL. More than anything else, I am just so damn glad it’s over! 🙂

Though music for me is the balm of Giliad, it just couldn’t soothe my disappointment that we would rather elect a morally bankrupt felon than a woman!
    Take care Ray

Thank you, Mary Helen. I don’t think her loss had a lot to do with her gender. In my mind, Kamala Harris had just over 100 days to run her campaign. That’s not a lot of time to introduce yourself to a public that really didn’t know her, but she sure could have made better use of it. She held no “formal” press conferences and even though she said she had “a plan” for almost every situation that was dragging Americans down, we never heard the nuts and bolts of any of those plans. She looked (and sounded) unprepared for the most important job in the world, and her selection of Tim Walz as her running mate was a disaster right from the start. He was a train wreck.

What a great choice of songs! We were up till 3 am. Afraid to go to sleep and wake up in 2020.
Thanks Ray, May God Bless You, and may God Bless this Country. I believe we can be great again <3

Thank you, Eileen and John. I am very pleased to know you enjoyed the songs and more than that, I am thrilled the election took place with no violence. It is 2024 and a new day is dawning!

I loved the thought process that you went through, putting this together. Great intros. Loved you ending it with The Beatles’ “End”.
Killian and I both hope that you have a good break and we’re looking forward to joining in over the Thanksgiving Holidays!

    😊💕👍

Thank you, boys. I was very prepared to change the song introductions if VP Harris had won, and I swear I would have delivered the medley in a the same impartial manner. While I’m missing in action for a few weeks, I want the New Glimmer Twins to dig deep into the archives!

You picked a really nice group of songs to play today. I enjoyed listening after I got other things done including a couple of good deeds. Enjoy your evening tonight and get some well deserved rest.

Thank you, Jackie. By the way, doing good deeds is always time well spent. I’m glad you enjoyed the music, and I look forward to 3 weeks rest so I can come back renewed and refreshed.

Great Medley Ray – great choice of songs. I hope that you get a good night sleep tonight! I also hope that American comes together and do what is best for our beloved country!! It doesn’t matter what gender, what color, or what party you are…we are all Americans, living in the greatest country in the world.Show love and respect to your fellow man and neighbors. As the saying goes – THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN!! My friends will always be my friends no matter who their choice was…now it is up to us all to help support the decision of the majority and make American great again!! If you did not vote, shame on you and don’t complain of the outcome!! Get a good night sleep 😴 Ray and see you in the morning 🌄

Thank you, Bruce, and may I add, very well said. Love the outcome or loathe it, “the people have spoken” and we all must join hands and be Americans.

Thank you Ray! Beautiful music and if everyone was as heartfelt as you, we would struggle no more as a whole. That is not life which is full of ups and downs and surprises. Each of us must carry on with good in our hearts and ever increasing wisdom.

    1. Ray (Post author)

Thank you, Liz. I am truly humbled by your words. My listeners come here to be reminded of some of the happier times in their lives through the gift of music. I have always felt if I can, on any given day, make just one listener recapture a magical memory, it’s been a very successful day. ❤️

Ray I am glad to hear you are taking a break!! Well deserved and needed!! I am glad it’s over!! Let’s pray we can all move on and hope for the best for our country!! Ray I pray that you will rest and get some relief from all that you are going through!! We all love your show and I am sure it will be better than ever!!
Love you my friend!! Oh ya great music today as always!!

    1. Ray (Post author)

Thank you, Fred! Yeah, I’m feeling a little burned out by all of the election dialogue online. I thought it would be wise to stay away from social media instead of going ballistic. The election won’t really be over until people cool it with the rhetoric and stop venting.
There will be a BIG change in the medleys and how they’re presented when I come back, but more on that later.
      Stay Well!
      Love ya!

Listened on Saturday morning (finally!). I am very impressed by your choice of songs-very appropriate for the day. Glad that the popular vote was won, as well. It should be obvious that people need to come together and support the majority and work to come together as Americans. Hope you rest and recuperate during your time off.

    1. Ray (Post author)

Thank you, Pat! The popular vote win was so important because that rules out any talk about the Electoral College overshadowing the results. There is a lot of anger out there, but I pray it begins to subside soon!
