Hump Day Medley!

It’s Hump Day and we have a few oldies you have never heard here before (and may never hear again). For example, it’s pretty much a given I don’t play a lot of Donny Osmond songs but the majority of songs in this medley are all connected to this date in music history, so today, little Donny fits.

We also have a song by a trio of siblings (no, not the Bee Gees) that is here for the same reason as Donny. They had a massive hit and a #1 song on this date, just like that little Osmond fella.

And of course, there are rock songs, pop songs, and a song by a legend who passed on this date. It’s all designed to get you over that hump!

Such a great medley this was, opening with the Eagles and stepping into one of the Browns greatest hits. I always thought little Jimmy Brown was their best. I was always a fan of Bobby Vee and Bobby Vinton. Love their songs. And then, of course, the Beach boys song was awesome. Thank you for that, and the Bee Gees. God, I love that group. Thank you for the shout out. I had no idea that Donny Osmond was only 13 when he sang that song, go away little girl! Wow the things I’ve learned on this website. You are a great teacher. I also had no idea that Jimi Hendrix was only 27 years old when he died. Thank you for this midweek, wonderful medley, and remember you are the best! 🥰

Thank you, Sandy. I am very impressed you actually remembered the Browns song. Having a #1 song for four straight weeks during the Elvis frenzy period was amazing! Kudos to them!
I am, as always, very glad you enjoyed the music! Knock today out of the park! 🥰

Thank you, Mary Helen. I didn’t want to play anything Osmond, but hey, the kid was at #1. I’ve got a very similar situation coming up on Friday with another #1 tune. Rather fitting that I started out with “Heartache Tonight” since it was co-written by JD Souther, who passed this morning.
I’m very happy you enjoyed it! 🥰
