Before I talk about today’s medley, please allow me to thank you all for such a wonderful response to yesterday’s. It was very gratifying and much appreciated. ❤
Today we’re moving on to 1966, but I promise to return to 1965 very soon because there were so many more songs I can (and will) play from that very special year.
In addition to playing a lot of tunes (some you will recognize immediately) that sat high on the Billboard charts on August 14, 1966, there are three songs by artists who passed on this date.

XOXO
WOW on Wednesday 🙂 I didn’t recognize, tho Ted did, the Rolling Stones song but have to say that 1966 was a fantastic year for music. Thanks Ray. Lee & Ted
Thanks, guys! 🥰🥰
I think it would be difficult to slip one by Ted!
Another great days of memories from the past, thank you so much!
Thanks, Nancy and a big thank you for the link to yesterday’s medley on your Facebook page! ❤️
This was fun
If you wondered if I were paying attention thanks for the tease of my scorn for Gary Lewis and following it by a Hollies fave
Your medleys always start my day on a high note
I think you ALWAYS pay attention!
I couldn’t play Gary Lewis without mentioning you and I just had to (I really did) have to follow his song with the Hollies!
I’m very happy you enjoyed it! 🥰
Another great mix. I was only 13. I’m amazed that I was listening to so much music back then.
You were right about knowing those two songs immediately. I knew them both with the first note! “Wild Thing” & “Little Red Riding Hood”. Although I didn’t remember the groups’ names that performed them.
“Will I See You In September” by the “Happenings” was another one that I used to sing over and over again…along with “House of the Rising Sun” by the Animals.
Thanks for another good medley to work by, Ray!
Jim, I am happy I was able to revive some long ago memories with a few of these songs. Thank you for your constant and uplifting support! 🥰
I’m always a day late and a dollar short. I listened to both yesterdays and today’s, double the pleasure! And that person, didn’t know what he was talking about, I love the oldies, I would take them over today’s music any day. Thank you, you ROCK at this!
Bless your heart, Donna! Yeah, I think Mr. Radio Station owner is out of his mind!
I am so late getting to this today because I needed to get outside early this morning and get going on the few things that I needed to do. We’ve got some low humidity for the next three days and in the 60s at night which is almost unheard of in NC in the summer. But oh my gosh, what a blast listening to this, and the first song that I hear is my beloved Beach boys. Thank you for the shout out! They are still my favorite after all these years and then next in line, it’s the Beatles, of course. But some of the songs and I just love How you closed with the Lovin spoonful and there were several selections that were still in my memory still knew the words. Awesome again! I’m a listen to this whole lineup one more time. Well until tomorrow, thank you so much for sharing with us the things that we love the most, our music! And remember, one thing – – “you’re the best” 😍
Thank you, Sandy! Yes, make the most of the weather while you can! AS always, I thank you for your support and your vitality! I know how you feel about the Beach Boys and if I’m right you’re also a little crazy about Tommy James (so I’m paying one of his tomorrow!)
Keep smiling and keep singing!
YOU are the best! 😍
