Thank God It’s FriYay!

We’re wrapping up the week with another grab from the archives! I appreciate you letting me do an archive medley once or twice a week. Given my circumstances, it is much easier on me.

We have a wide assortment of music, primarily from the 60s but there is also a classic from the 50s, along with a couple of 70s hit songs, a Forgotten 45, and a rare “gem” (gem may be too strong, but it did reach #20) from 1967!

I hope you enjoy the music and I hope you have a safe and wonderful weekend!

Memories … That’s What We’re All About

      Thank you, Marty!
It’s going to be a weekend of watching Women’s college basketball (especially Caitlin Clark) for me. I hope you have a relaxing weekend!

Another great medley!! I have heard that version of “wild thing” before and still not impressed, hard to believe it hit the top 20 .. to each their own I guess … LOL

Good Morning Ray, Hope you have a good weekend. Your FriYAY musical magical medley has brought the sun in & Ted & I both got a chance to enjoy it. He is taking my son to Burlington today. I have a load of laundry going to put on the line before the roofer gets here to put up his staging, etc. Enjoy today & thank you 🙂

      Thank you, Lee & Ted!
I’m glad you enjoyed the medley and I hope the roofing goes well!

  4. Don Doyle

Here we go again. Donavan I feel is under appreciated. He was an important part of the scene. I think comparing him to Dylan was a misstep. Two very different guys. The Hollies are great! Just recently I watched a very good documentary on them. Worth a watch if you haven’t seen it, seek it out. Never a big fan of “Rickey” Nelson. It was fun to see him on TV every week but… Now “Rick” Nelson is another story. I love his work with The Stone Canyon Band. He was early into the California Country movement. Excellent work but not enough of it.
All in all a great way to start the weekend. Thank you Ray. Enjoy your basketball weekend!

      Thank you, Don!
I’m glad you, like Penny, enjoyed MOST of the medley!
Watching Caitlin Clark play basketball this weekend is something I am very much looking forward to!

I liked more than I commented on but felt it was time to stop. I could go on for days but…
I do appreciate all your efforts to amuse & educate your listeners. Thanks, Ray

  7. Jim

    Terrific medley!
I remember the girls liking Donovan a lot.
I always got a giggle out of “Wild Thing” done by Robert F. Kennedy! 😂
A lot of great songs here.
    Thank you, Ray.

      Thank you, Jim!
William Minkin sure sounded like RFK!
      Glad you enjoyed it!

I think Senator Bobby’s version of “Wild Thing” should have been smashed and burned. Otherwise, good music, as usual. One observation I wish there were less people coming to America.
