Country Grammys, Part 2

Time to get back to Country music Grammy awards, and this time, we’re celebrating the men who took home Grammy awards for Best Solo Performance.

I’m going to stop right here and dedicate this entire medley to my sister, Linda Corliss. She’s celebrating a birthday today, so Lin, this one’s for you!

It’s important to remember that all all Grammy Awards reflect the year in which the Grammys were presented, for works released in the previous year.

Memories … That’s What We’re All About

Ray I want to say Happy Birthday to Linda!! Not being much of a gambler getting ready to find out they were wrong about the cancer!!George was one of Nancy’s fathers favorite! When he was real sick Nancy sent him a letter and he wrote a note back to her Dad!! That’s a class act!! Getting ready to go to the hospital This is a great distraction good music can do that!! How is the rest of the group liking the Country?? I think I told you I really love it!! Vince Gill is one of my y favorites that man can play the guitar!! And let’s not forget Johnny Cash!! Ray have a great day and try to get some cake from Linda!!
    Love ya

Thank you, Fred. The country music isn’t getting anywhere near the number of “hits” that the oldies do. We’ll see how today’s medley does. That George Jones memory is wonderful. Class act indeed!
You are in my prayers. I know we like to joke around but you need to know how much I love you. ❤

    2. Jim

Fred, you are in my prayers for sure. I will be thinking about you today, while I look after my grandson. George was also one of my daughter’s favorites. Surprised me a lot as I was more into rock music back then.
As a long-time rocker, I picked up on country music back in the 80’s. I’ve actually seen, in person, 4 of these artists!
Keep fighting. That’s all you can do. Leave the rest of the crap to the experts helping you.
I know how those people feel that are helping you…my son had a very rare type of bone cancer…given 3 months and lived 3 great years. Many of those helping him felt the same pain as I and my wife felt. You will get past this…I feel it.
But, Ray, I have to say the artist that had the best voice was Ronnie Milsap!

Jim, thank you for the prayers and encouraging words of support for Fred. 🥰 I have known him for over 65 years and trust me, you won’t find a better man anywhere.
Milsap’s voice is as smooth as silk!

Thank you, Lee & Ted 🥰🥰
I haven’t paid attention to the Grammys for years and years, but it was a nice way to remind listeners about some of the best in country music. Glad you enjoyed it!

Another great medley … love all these guys – is a tough call but would have to say the George Jones song is probably my favorite!! Between them, they all have so many powerful songs that will stand the tests of time!
Thanks to you, your medleys and just music in general for helping so many of us get through and deal with whatever … you are truly a godsend! Prayers for all your listeners (I personally don’t know many of them) and know that your medleys help us all!
Happy Birthday to Linda and hopefully you can snag a piece of cake! 🙂
Have a wonderful day my friend!!
    XXOO

      Thank you, Penny 🥰
Country music has, in my opinion, the very best storyteller.
Now then, I am truly touched by your beautiful comments. I really do try to bring some joy into listener’s lives,
      Stay Safe
      XOXO

  5. Bob Hingston

Thanks Ray for all your great medleys. I really appreciate you doing the one for me (and others of course) on Toby Keith. You really make my late afternoon times special, of listening to the music, while just resting my eyes sometimes. Be well my friend, and keep the hits coming. Bob

    1. Ray (Post author)

      Thank you, Hinger 🥰
Playing Toby was an absolute pleasure. Thank you for suggesting it.
I am so glad the music medleys are a welcome addition to your day.
As soon as I am able to walk again, I would love to grab a bite to eat with you at our favorite spot!

  6. Pat Conant

Great choices of songs for these grammy winners. Glad you agree with me concerning the best ever country song, and thanks, Ray for the shout out. A great boost, as Penny says to get us through whatever. Music is a healer for sure.

    1. Ray (Post author)

Thank you so much, Pat 🥰
I gave you he shout out because you are my “country expert”! I am so glad you enjoyed the medley and I see that Penny agrees with us on George’s song. I sincerely appreciate your kind words.
