Welcome Back!

It’s a new year and the beginning of our 19th year of celebrating the greatest music of all time!

In 2024, the focus is going to be exactly what it was when we started this site; music from the 50s, 60s and 70s, with an emphasis on the 60s. To be sure, there will be times when a song from the 80s will pop up, but those times be few and far between.

I want to thank everyone who took the time to offer suggestions regarding what I should personally consider as this new year rolls along.

Those suggestions will result in this schedule:
Monday through Wednesday will feature new medleys.
Thursday will consist of an archived medley one week and an archived Sixties Revolution the alternate week.
Friday will be, as usual, a new rock and roll medley (and it will be loud, Jim!)

Now let’s get to today’s medley, featuring a #1 song on this date, a few backstories, and four birthdays, including three songs by you know who!

Memories … That’s What We’re All About

Good Morning Ray; hope you have a good day ’cause your decision & medley has been much enjoyed by Me & Ted. The information you add, the history & background stories make your music something all can learn from & listen to. For the record (pun intended), remembering with Ray is about the music, memories & smiles πŸ™‚

Welcome back trust all is well!! And you are correct that song was bad the only thing that helped it was the sax!! All the songs I remembered!! Shimmy Shimmy Koko Bop reminded me that some song lyrics were kind of funny!! I don’t think you could ever play to many Elvis songs!! And I love when you give us info on the song or the person!! When you do that it makes all this seem like this show has a personality and it gives me a sense of how much you care about all of us!!(I hope that made sense) I hope all is well and may God Bless!!
    Love ya

Oh YES …. he’s baaacckkkk! 2024 is going to be a very good year for the new medley format.
I have a better understanding of how hearing these selections and your voice, of course, brings us all closer together no matter where we are.

You tell it like it is and I LOVE it πŸ˜‰

Great intro and as the song says we’re glad you’re back!

I believe that when you hear someone’s voice or think of them the energy exchange is powerful
    The energy is mutual
We’ve got the music in us
    Elvis 89 today wow

      Thank you, Mary Helen πŸ₯°
We really DO have the music in us and I love our mutual energy!
Hard to believe Elvis has been gone for 46 tears.

  7. Jim

Way more than I expected! I loved this medley as well as the way you handled it. Great music, great factoids and just the right amount of blathering! LOL

I love your plan and I want you to know that if you have to miss a few, that’s fine. Your health and happiness are the most important thing to me.

    Great Job!!!

And so the great music continues in 2024! Loved the back stories especially the “dog” ones. Wishing health and happiness in 2024, Ray.

      Thank you, Pat πŸ₯°
Happy 2024! I’m very glad you enjoyed the music! The dog barking just before ‘Me and You and A Dog Named Boo’ begins was Wendy’s dog, Goldie. That sweet pup is gone now but her bark lives on forever!

  10. Penny S Capron

Great medley and so glad you are back .. you ROCK!!! Who can go wrong with Elvis but also loved “Sittin on the dock of the bay” which is where I wish I was right now cause I bet it is warmer than what I have now .. LOL
Have a wonderful evening and stay warm!
    XXOO

    1. Ray (Post author)

      Thanks, Penny πŸ₯°
It’s good to be back but if I had a choice, I would much rather be sitting on that dock of the bay, too. 8 inches of snow yesterday and another 3-5 tomorrow night.
I am so glad you enjoyed the music!
      XOXO
