12 Days of Christmas, Day 9

Earlier this week, I mentioned these medleys would get more traditional/spiritual as the week progressed. We have reached that point.

Some of the artists may surprise you but the songs they’re singing should be very familiar. If you’re waiting for some of the all-time favorites, you can relax. They will all becoming in the next three days.

There is one “song” today that may be something new to you. It is another recording I made back in 2005. When I mention “looking back 40-45 years ago,” that was then. Today it would be “looking back 60-65 years.”

I am happy for Toby Keith!! Seems he is doing better!! I remember when you did your Christmas song as if it were yesterday!! And Springfield was a little bit like Bedford Falls!! We did have more snow and getting a bike was huge!! One of our best Christmas was when we got a puppy!! I know you and I have talked about keeping Santa alive and our fear is we are losing that spirit!! The Spirit of Christmas is still in many ways still alive!! We still give to kids in need and we still give a Christmas meal to those less fortunate than us!! Ray I often wonder if A Bell rang when we lost one man who walked Springfield and was a great man!! I remember that man always wearing that fur coatI he walked miles around town and he reminds me that having very little was ok!! Maybe Ira was that angel who watched over our town!! Loved your Christmas Story!! Merry Christmas

      Thank you, Fred ❤️
I remember Ira so well. I was never scared of him. My parents told me he was a man down on his luck and I never forgot that.
Thanks for the very kind words about my story.
      Love ya and Merry Christmas!

Totally embraced the message of your opinion piece
Don’t know why but I got emotional when singing along a couple of times…overtaken by the spirit of the songs

12-23-2023 Ted & I got to listen to this medley too. I am happy to report that the roofer repaired our chimney & it’s in excellent shape now for Santa on the original day. Ted & did some holiday grocery shopping & stopped to see my brother Ernie. It nice to work with local people. Hope you’re enjoying your day & again thank you 🙂 Lee & Ted

Loved this, some of my favorite voices including Ray Lemire’s. Springfield was that town.

Well, it’s Jan 7th and still Christmas at our house. Being away for my favorte time of the year was hard. BUT like your comments stated, in this over sized world of commerce, it was a beautiful Christmas of Peace. A lovely church service, a walk through Paris under the stars, no presents and no tree, but that Holy little baby was the Gift.
Thank you, Ray, for the gifts you share with us. Love you bunches!

I appreciate your very lovely and inspired comments.
That baby was (and forever will be) the true meaning of Christmas!
