Throwback Thursday!

So far this week, we’ve done a second tribute to female singers and a career retrospective on George Harrison. How about we keep it simple today?

There is something a little different today. I’m playing five oldies I have never played in a medley before, and I’m also sending out birthday wishes to someone very special! ❀

Memories … That’s What We’re All About

Ray when did Elvis do that song?? I don’t recall that song at all!! And you are right Erin is a beautiful young lady!! I also recall Wendy is a big fan of Miss Swift?? Where does time go Erin grew up way to fast times like holidays make me wish we could slow down!! I am so happy for you you have a great family!! We sure have been down every road and I don’t think we did it with a Lightfoot!! I am surprised we don’t have a Pacemaker!! Do you really have that clock on the wall!! And there is no doubt you do better than the best !! Anyway sending hugs to Erin!! Happy Birthday!!

      Thanks, Fred πŸ₯°
Elvis released that song in 1956. It was the flip side of ‘Love Me Tender’.
Thanks you for the very kind words about Erin. She has grown up way too fast! Both Erin and Wendy are HUGE Taylor fans.
I really do have a clock on the wall. It helps me to time out the medleys. πŸ™‚
      Love ya!

Loved all of these. Bobby Daren’s life was so messed up by his family. I feel for him. True testament that music can be a great healer and is where many of us go for help. I only wish that he had not developed heart issues at such a young age.

And Happy Birthday to Erin! I also like Taylor’s music.

Thank you, Ray, as always…you provide a great start to my days.

      Thank you, Jim! πŸ₯°
Bobby had so much talent. A life cut short by a heart problem!

Good Morning Ray & Happy Birthday to Erin πŸ™‚ Tried to cut & paste a message about diabetes that my cousin’s son posted & even with Ted’s help it didn’t work so will have to hand write & type to do it. Have our realtor showing up any minute now with paperwork on the sale of the trailer so to keep this short. Good Medley & I’m sure Erin was a beautiful baby & thanks for ending with one of my favorite songs by Mac Davis. Ted & I both sang along & we’re doing the best that we can πŸ™‚ Thank you for your musical medley & a good day to all πŸ™‚ Lee & Ted

I am very glad you enjoyed the music, especially Mac!
      Good luck with the trailer!

As you said some you’ve never played before and some I don’t recall hearing
Keep medleys of any ilk coming…look forward to morning for a change

Happy Birthday wishes to Erin ~ I know how very special grandchildren are and how fast they grow up. Didn’t somebody write a song about that very thing ….. turn around, turn around …. something like that! πŸ˜‰ Celebrate TODAY!!

    1. Ray (Post author)

      Thank you, Rose ❀
Yes, Mr. Belafonte certainly did record that beautiful (and very accurate) song. I know better than many that we are not promised tomorrow so I do try to celebrate each and every day. I will not be around to see all of Erin’s life unfold but I am so grateful God has allowed me to see a glimpse of what she will become.

What Mary Helen said, although I don’t usually listen until later in the day. Love Mac Davis, didn’t realize he had written so many songs, personal favorite, “Baby Baby Don’t Get Hooked On Me”.

Thanks, Pat! I will see to it that Mac’s song will play next week. πŸ™‚
