A Musical Time Machine

The long weekend is over. But there’s good news! It’s only five days until next Friday so let’s get the ball rolling!

We’ve got three #1 songs (one of them includes a backstory for Mary Helen), a rare gem from a band known for cartoon songs, a song that reached #12 but is now almost forgotten, a powerhouse vocal from Tom Jones, and a lot more!

It’s not Friday yet, but this is a good start! 🙂

Wow, transported back to the cafeteria at Riverside where the 1st song played many, many times & yes, I sang along. Actually I hummed or sang along throughout the medley & I have to agree with Mary Helen, I enjoy the backstory too. Thank you for a memorable musical melody. Have a good day Ray 🙂 Lee

Thanks, Lee. 🙂 As I said to Jim earlier, I enjoy digging up those backstories!

    The Cowsills doing Hair???
Can’t believe Pinball Wizard didn’t do better…too long for radio play?
Not sure I remember the Hombres…
What could be wrong with a medley including the Beatles, Rascals, Petty and the voice of Tom Jones

I’m sliding in at the end of Monday to listen to your Monday Medley. (5 mo. into retirement and I now appreciate my retired friends saying their days are filled! No time for “work.”)
Your work brings back great memories, no matter the time of day I listen! Thanks Ray!

      Thank you, Terry
I retired from radio in 2007 and thanks to history columns and music medleys, I think I’m working more than ever … but still enjoying it! 🥰
