Mondays can be stressful enough so I decided to switch things up! Instead of a long rock and roll medley and a shorter “soft” medley, I turned it around!
The softer medley clocks in at about 38 minutes and may include a few gems you’re not familiar with, but trust me, I am, and it’s always good to expand your horizons!
The “louder” medley is about 27 minutes long and I assure you all of these classics will be very familiar!

Badfinger – Beatles
Beau Brummels – Byrds
CCR – Guess Who
Spencer Davis Group – Men At Work
George Harrison
Enjoyed them both this morning, particularly the Raferty and Harrison cuts. You dug deep for both of those gems. Great start to the week, thanks Ray!
Thank YOU, Marty! It’s fun to dig deep. Doing that often brings “new” music to listeners. I can’t do that with you. You are a musicologist, my friend! Have a wonderful day!
When you see the name Badfingers and George Harrison that’s the button to push!! I must say great choices!! Loved the guitar work on the guess who!! Off to get zapped
Love ya
Thanks, Fred! I hope the zapping goes well. 🥰
Love ya!
Soft but songs filled with loss and longing.
Loved Rafferty piece, sax on the Dells and like how you snuck in the Everly Bros…I thought it was a dream
The rock medley was far from down…it rocked in a softer way
You are certainly working overtime
these days and perhaps a sign you are really feeling better
Know these medleys feed your soul too
Thank you, Mary Helen. Yes, I am feeling better but tomorrow some may be disappointed in getting only one medley. There are days when even I run out of time and today is one of them.
Your comments were, as always, beautifully written. 🥰
Great way to start the week, Ray! Our grandson loves music. I believe that he knows more intimate details about the Beatles and their songs than I do…lol! I was recently talking to him about John Fogerty and the issues that he had with his band CCR. What an incredible songwriter and musician he still is! Got to see him live at the Saratoga Performing Artis Center several years back. My wife and I couldn’t believe how so many teen age kids were dancing in the aisles to his music!
Thank you, Pat 🥰
Saying John Fogerty had issues with his band is a major understatement! There was some serious loathing going on with that mess, and neither side budged. It was sad to see such a great group, although John was clearly the heart and soul of it, end in such bitter fashion.
You were not dreaming MH … I heard it as well 😉
Thank you, Rose. I thought it was a nice touch. 🥰
Started out fast in the shower to get me going for a very hard work day.
Now, listening to the softer side after eating dinner. Shute, as heck, beats listening to the news.
Sitting in my game room listening to the music and watching my fish loving their feeding and their well-kept aquarium. So very relaxing.
Thank you, Jim. I have to say you described it all so perfectly. I can SEE it!
Eating squid, something I would never do, would beat watching the news!
I don’t believe I was dreaming, but I heard the Everly brothers, also. I had planned to listen to both of these today but kept being interrupted. Maybe tomorrow. Anyhow this was great, a couple I didn’t know, but all good. Love Aaron Neville and The Dells
Thanks, Pat 🥰
I guess Rose, Mary Helen and you all focused in on Don and Phil! I’m very happy that you enjoyed the music, and as always, thank you for commenting!
Kingsmen – Louis-Louis! One of my fave’s from my early childhood days.
I loved the slip-up… “program”. I love the fact that for that one moment you thought you were on the radio, doing a live show. That is why I love the “blabbering”. I love the memories of real radio!
❤️
Thank you, Jim! I can’t believe the Singing Nun held off the Kingsmen! It’s true, sometimes when I have the microphone in front of me, I forget that I’m not sitting in the station studio, looking across the board at Heather!
