I’m dropping the “Let’s Look At One Specific Year” type of medley today, in favor of a “Let’s Play Some Requests” medley.
We’ve got slow songs, fast songs, a country song, and songs from the 60s, 70s and 80s! And we have one song that will (or should) wake you up with a jolt. You can thank Heather for that one. ๐

Thank YOU so much, Erron! ๐ฅฐ
Good Morning Ray, Nice job with your all request Thursday medley & everyone had good selections too ๐ Ted & I were talking about the different ways that different bands set up their set lists. Some times 3 fast & then a slow, some were 4 fast & then a slow. I remember that band member introductions were often done the beginning of the 3rd set as people leave before the end of the evening. First set was 1 hour with 15 minute break, sets 2-4 were 45 minutes before a break. This has nothing to do with today’s songs but it’s a memory ๐ Thanks for the music & a good day to you. Lee & Ted
Thanks Lee & Ted ๐ฅฐ
I can always count on you to post a memory … and I love them!
Your listener’s have great taste. Really enjoyed these. Thanks. <3
Thank you, Nancy ๐ฅฐ
I hope you know you are always welcome to submit your own requests!
This was terrific. I love listening to other peoples request to see what kind of music they like, and I liked all of them. Their choices were excellent! Good job as always, and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you Ray, youโre the best. ๐ฅฐ
Thanks, Sandy๐ฅฐ
It’s always fun to see what listeners enjoy!
I loved these songs as well as the commentary along with them.
This is what old radio was all about! It’s truly a hard-to-find art. When I was living in the Catskills 6 of us from various backgrounds came up with a plan to start a Radio Station that would be filled with shows by volunteers. We started Roxbury’s WIOX Radio – 91.3FM. All volunteer hosts with mostly one-hour shows, dealing with music to talk shows. I hosted “From the Forest” a talk-show dealing with forests and forestry. There are many shows dealing with other topics along with a lot of music specialists. Some of these hosts are transients from NYC.
Thanks for the compliment, Jim! ๐ฅฐ
I wish I lived closer to your station. I would have been happy to do a show!
What a bunch of great requests then to top it off you surprise me with Dobie Gray .. love love it!! Just finished listening to medley for second time, likely will listen again ๐

Just reiterating what we all know Ray, you’re the bomb

I’m sorry I only had time to get two of your requests in. I promise I will get to the other two next time.
2 out of 4 ain’t bad
Never thought your would play all at once…โฎ๏ธ
You are a patient woman ๐
I’m feeling pretty special today. You played two of my requests <3.
I always love request day. Your fans have great taste in tunes.
I'll be doing a few repeats today as I do some house work…and YES the last song will keep me up and moving.
As always, thank you for all that you do for us ๐
I’m very glad you enjoyed them, Eileen ๐ฅฐ
You have very good taste!
WOW, this was super-duper great, Ray. Loved every one, and your listeners are fantastic! And special thanks for playing my request. My memories of this song, involve a break-up, and a diner next to the Ellis Theater(the name of the diner eludes me), where we hung out after school every day. I used to play that song on the jukebox every day, while enjoying a coke.(providing, of course that I had an extra dime in my pocket. Anyhow I enjoyed “slipping away” to the music today.
Terrific comment, Pat! ๐
I can picture that diner but I can’t recall the name, either. I’m glad the song brought back those memories!
