Lennon Birthday Medley

John Lennon would have turned 83 today. Of course he isn’t because, as hard as it may be to believe, he has been dead longer than he was alive.

Lennon never enjoyed the type of feverish success he enjoyed as a Beatle. He became deeply involved in causes that did not endear him to his fans, and most definitely did not thrill members of the Nixon administration.

But he did have his moments, as can be heard in this medley. Who knows, there might have been more if he had not been shot in the back as he and his wife walked through the archway entrance of their residence at The Dakota on December 8, 1980.

I remember when he was shot (day before my oldest son was born) .. what a tragedy!
A great medley to honor him!

Songs like Imagine, Well well, Beautiful Boy surely showcased his talent, but just didn’t enjoy his political rants to even though I may have agreed with him

Afternoon Ray, Ted & I Listened to the John Lennon medley later in the morning today. He has gone to take his daughter to an appointment she has today & pick up some more stuff at Home Depot needed at the trailer. I opted to stay home since my headache is getting worse & am to lay down. Have an eye appt. tomorrow so want to feel my best. Even decided to visit my son Charlie tomorrow. Today is his 55th birthday. It is also Ted’s grandson William’s 12th birthday. Not a very musical comment but how can you go wrong with songs by JL. Have a good day Ray. 🙂 Lee & Ted
