Once in a while I try to go the extra mile for someone, or in today’s case, a special couple. Earlier this week, Lee Gould wrote to me and asked if I could play a special song for her husband Ted and her on this date, as it is their 38th wedding anniversary.
The song she requested – the second song in this medley – is very beautiful and it got me thinking. Why stop at just one song when I could play 10 country music songs and dedicate them all to Ted and Lee. To add an additional significant highlight to the celebration, I closed the medley with the #1 song on the Country singles chart on October 5, 1985, the day they were married.
It’s the least I could do for a woman I have known since Grade School, and the man who is clearly the love of her life. I hope in some small way this music makes their special day a little bit brighter. ❤

Things like what you did for TED AND LEE make your show!! Yes the music is great but the man behind it is why!! Happy anniversary Ted and Lee and what a great day for too!!
Love ya
Thank you, Fred 🥰 It all started with that one request and I just couldn’t stop! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Love ya!
Ray, Since you tagged Ted this morning I told him I had asked you to dedicate a song for our anniversary never expecting a full medley plus a personalized record with picture & statistics. Wow! Did you have time to eat, sleep or do anything else? I am overwhelmed with this gift of beautiful music dedicated to us. Thank you doesn’t really seem enough but thank you Ray; we both love it. I considered the 1st song you used but chose the one I did because it’s not chosen as often & the references to pine trees, rivers, mountains, etc. describe where I lived when we met. When Ted asked me to marry him I told him to pick a day & he did. I kinda’ hesitated & he thought maybe I didn’t want to marry him but I was married the 1st time on Oct. 5, 1968! I decided that marriage isn’t a date it’s the person & said yes to Ted. The rest is history & they lived happily ever after 🙂 Hope all your other listeners like love songs. One more thing…. do you write the horoscopes in the Rutland Herald? Mine yesterday read “Your charismatic energy is hard to resist. You have the power to attract love, money & just about ANYTHING ELSE YOUR HEART DESIRES.” Sound familiar? Thank you Ray. What a way to start today. Hope it’s a good one for everyone 🙂 Lee & Ted
Dear Lee, it was my pleasure and honor to put this medley together for you and your guy. I am so glad you enjoyed it. ❤
The Rutland Herald stole my line! That said, the horoscope was right. You DO have charismatic energy!
I Love You Guys! ❤❤
Happy Anniversary Ted & Lee!
A very special thing you did for them. Ray.
Great love songs. Last one, especially. I just slow-danced that one with my wife this morning, before she headed out to work. At first, I think that she thought I was crazy!
Thank you, Jim! 🥰 I thoroughly enjoyed this one. To discover that final song was #1 on the Country chart the day they were married made it an absolute must for the finale! I hope your wife (and you) enjoyed that dance!
Ray as always your kindness shows through
Happy anniversary Ted & Lee…so special to be serenaded by Ray with such a beautiful country mix
Here’s to many more
Thank you, Mary Helen! 🥰 As I said elsewhere, it was an honor to put it together!
Happy Anniversary Lee and Ted.

Happy anniversary, Lee and Ted! This medley of country songs was an absolute delight for me. So many artists with such wonderful love songs. It sure does take you back. Thank you ray for the great selection of songs and look forward to something like this again. I especially loved Ronnie Milsap, as of course, in the still of the night is imbedded in all of our brains. Until tomorrow, sayonara! And remember, you are the best! 🥰
Thank you, Sandy! 🥰
I was very happy to do this for them, but it’s back to rock and roll tomorrow!
What a fabulous set to honor this special day and such a wonderful couple. I have many fond memories connected to these songs, and Rosa Lee was my best established friend at East School. Thank you Ray for your beautiful heart. Happy happy day!
Thank you, Bonnie 🥰
Lee has a very good heart and she deserved this. ❤
I have been “under the weather” the last few days, so haven’t listened to the medleys. When I saw this today, I had to play it first. Of course, I loved every one of these. Happy Anniversary to Lee and Ted and to my son and daughter-in law, who are celebrating 27 years today.
Thank you, Pat 🥰
I’m sorry you have been under the weather but I hope you’re on the rebound. I had a feeling today’s medley would be pleasing to your ears and I wish your son and his “bride” a very Happy Anniversary! ❤
I am feeling much better. I sent the medley to my son, so he could play it for Cindy, Know she will love it!
❤❤
