It’s Throwback Thursday, but now that I think about it, every single day is a Throwback day around here.
What makes this one special is five more requested songs, four music-related deaths (three of them this year), and an opening song played for a special reason!
By the way, I opened with Mr. Young so it will make it easier to replay it again (and again) instead of having to search for it. You can thank me later. 🙂

Throwback Thursday!
Neil Young – Hollies
Waylon Jennings – Beatles
Billy Joel – Roy Orbison & kd lang
Three Dog Night – Tony Bennett
Gary Wright – Jeff Beck
Loved hearing Neil Young first thing on the Smedley oh, that voice I could listen to it all day. And thank you Wendy for requesting the holidays! All I need is the air that I breathe and to love you! Does that say a lot? It sure does. Love me some Waylon Jennings! Great to hear about Lucy in the sky with diamonds that story explains it all, and to think that I always thought it stood for LSD. L O L. Having seen Billy Joel in concert, live, every single song that he does I love – – – Mr. piano man, himself. Oh, thanks to Rose for playing Roy Orbison. I absolutely love to listen to that man. Hey Ellen, thank you for the Sha la la!! I might add that my all-time favorite has-been, Tony Bennett over the years, my parents loved him, and they pass that along to us. I’m afraid it may have ended with our generation, but the man had a voice that was unmistakably, precise and melodic, and he could sing a crooning song like no one. Yes, I left my heart in San Francisco, is forever etched in my mind. Wouldn’t have missed Gary Wright or Jeff Beck for anything. This was a great medley Ray totally enjoyed every second of it. I promise to be more attentive in the future. I’ve had the last couple not so great days. This is such a bright spot in my day today it’ll push me forward to do some thing that shows accomplishment. Thank you again. Hope you have a wonderful day and remember you’re the best! 🥰
Thank you, Sandy 🥰
I am, as always, grateful you enjoyed the music. I put a lot of work into this one. You don’t need to worry about paying more attention. I think you probably do already, but I also think you might worry too much about not commenting. Here’s a little secret for you. When you play the medleys, I can see and feel you smiling! ❤
I’m sorry you haven’t been feeling well. I guess I need to put my prayers into overdrive! 🥰
Well you knocked this one way out of the park
What an opener! The memorial tribute songs were just an excellent ending, never mind everything in between
Thanks as always for the great backstory info
Thank you, Mary Helen 🥰
Whenever I question my “work,” all I ever need to do is read your comments and I feel that it turned out just fine. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Good day Ray, I am enjoying your musical medley this afternoon. It amazes me that you can pull random recommendations, add music that is relevant for the date & come up with music that flows so that everyone wants to sing along, dance in their chairs or across the floor or was that just me? lol Well done my friend. Looking forward to tomorrow. Thank you for the music & the memories. Lee
Thank you so much, Lee 🥰 It is a lot of work but comments like yours make it all worthwhile. If I have you dancing across the floor, I’d call that a good day!
Thanks for playing Christy Lee, Ray. It’s one of those songs I never hear on the radio-there were so many hit songs on that album, that this one was forgotten, I think. I loved every song in this medley. You are just fantastic!!
Thank you, Pat! I personally think Billy’s song should have been released as a single from the “Innocent Man” album. You have great taste!
