Summer officially ends tomorrow. The problem is it never really started in northern New England (and elsewhere). Too much rain, too much stifling humidity, and not enough beautiful sunshine-filled days.
But in the spirit of summer, I have dug deep into the archives for a 40-minute collection of summer songs. You can close your eyes and pretend this year was a beautiful experience!
Yes, yes, I know I played the Elton John song on Wednesday but this is an archived medley so it is what it is. Besides, it’s an excellent song!
Here’s a reminder. I’m looking for requests from you … 2-3 of your favorite songs from 1955 -1995. Send ’em in!
Another reminder … Next week, you’re going to get the full deal as I will begin annoying you with back stories and commentary. Hey, if that’s what you want, you’re going to get it! π

The End of Summer Medley
John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John – Chuck Berry
Chad & Jeremy – Don Henley – Bob Seger
Billy Joel – Elton John – Jeff Lynne
Green Day – Beach Boys – Nat King Cole
Love all the songs.
Thanks, Erron π₯° I appreciate the feedback. Have a wonderful weekend!
Thanks for the memories. The end of the summer brings you fall. It was my favorite time of the year <3 Cept I knew what was to follow…pay backs, LOL
Thank you, Eileen π₯°
I also love fall but you’re right about what follows and I can’t begin to tell you how much I loathe that! π€£
This was the greatest medley. What a wonderful way to end up summer! Of course, I got a little carried away and had to listen to Nat βKingβ Cole over and over! But great choices, all songs that I could sing along to new all the words too, with the exception of a couple. Iβm not at a point yet where I can start dancing around the house but Iβm gearing up to it! Thanks for making me have a wonderful start to the day. Ray hope you have a wonderful and restful weekend, and remember youβre the best. π
Thank you, Sandy π₯°
Now you just hold on! The music may lift your spirits but I don’t want to hear anything about you standing up and doing the twist, or mashed potato, watusi, etc! π
Have a wonderful and peaceful weekend!
Chuck Berry always rocks
Must say don’t work on my night moves much anymore π€£
It might be nice if summer was always here, but change and variety are the spice of life
Keep the music coming until your passion wanes..it feeds our souls
Thanks, Mary Helen π₯°
I don’t even know what night moves mean anymore. π€£
I wouldn’t want summer to be a constant but I do wish we had actually had one this year! π
Good Afternoon Ray. Had to pick up my bifocals this morning so I am now listening to your Summer Medley for the 2x as I wasn’t done getting peppers ready to make stuffed peppers when it ended the 1st time. Peppers are now parboiling. Also have soup chicken, noodle with carrots, ready to heat up. Haven’t actually accomplished much but the fresh veggies won’t be going to waste. I was born in the Summer so appreciate today’s medley. I want all the Summer I can get. Have a good weekend & I’ll think about songs. π Lee
Thank you, Lee! π₯°
It all sounds delicious!
I’m afraid summer, or what we had of it, is over but fall is so extremely beautiful!
Have a great weekend!
A great way to usher in fall! I will try to get caught up over the weekend, but had to listen to this first. I’m sure you k ow my favorite.
Pat, you can be sure that I know. β€
