Monday Wake Up!

The drum was the first instrument besides the human voice.

This week, thanks to a suggestion by Jim Waters, you’re going to hear plenty of drums because I’m focusing on – but not exclusively – songs with the powerful drum sound. One thing I am not playing are songs with long, drawn out drum solos. The way I look at it is you probably listen to hear songs that bring back special memories for you, and listening to a 5-minute drum solo isn’t the recipe for that.

This is a site that prides itself on being the keeper of your memories, and that often means playing the softer stuff so you’ll also hear plenty of that today and throughout the week.

Thanks Ray, for thr Lettermrn and the dedication. Back when I was listening to them, I hadn’t even met Rick, the guy from Syracuse NY. We met in July ’70, married in Dec ’70, and still together after 52 years. What a very blessed gal I am. Best Christmas present I ever got. Have an awesome afternoon! Peace, my love.

        Thank you, Bonnie 🥰
It sounds to me that playing the Lettermen before you met Rick was prophetic. I am now extra happy that I played that song! ❤️

    Super job, Ray!
Listened to it a second time while shopping at Sam’s Club. Danced my way through the store! I hope that I didn’t forget anything…

Ditto what Rosa-Lee said. Love that Lettermen song and of course The Platters & Vince Gill. And the drummers were pretty good too!

If I made you smile today, it’s been a good day. 🙂
