The Break Is Over!

The break is over and it’s another day filled with songs recorded on this date, songs released on this date, a #1 song on this date, artists inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on this date, a rock and roll birthday, and a couple of songs which are included just because I felt like it. Dirty Dancing fans will understand one of them. 😉

It all adds up to 35 minutes of music memories, and will hopefully get your week started on a good note … pun intended. 🙂

Welcome back! I listened to some of the older medleys over the past week. It’s so great that they can make me feel old in a good way, yet also make me feel so young and alive!

I also took some history lessons from you. If I had listened in history classes when I was young, I would have done better in Trivial Pursuit. Now, thanks to you I think I could hold my own now.

Thanks, Jim! Your old/young description is EXACTLY what I strive for!
If I had my life to live over, I would definitely have become a history teacher. History is my true love and I thoroughly enjoyed putting those lessons together! 🥰

Thanks, Fred! I did enjoy the break but I spent too much of it researching music! 2006 was a very good year for the Rock & Roll Hall! I hope all is well with you and your lovely bride. ❤
      Love Ya!

      Thanks, Mary Helen 🥰
It’s great to be back and see your lovely comments again!
Lennon’s song addressed those who were confounded by his “househusband” years of 1975–1980, during which he retired from the music industry to concentrate on raising his son Sean. On the surface, it was a literal ode to watching the wheels of automobiles turn around and around, as he watched from his apartment window in the Dakota building.
But it was also a letter to the world about how Lennon was ok just simply existing. “I hadn’t stopped from ’62 to ’73 – on demand, on schedule, continuously. And walking away was hard. What it seemed like to me was, This must be what guys go through at sixty-five when suddenly they’re not supposed to exist any more and they are sent out of the office. I thought, Well, oughtn’t I? Shouldn’t I? Shouldn’t I be, like, going to the office or something?

Welcome back, Ray. Today’s medley is one of my favorites. Jim got it exactly right old, but still young and alive!
