Wendy’s Birthday Medley!

It’s a very special day here because Wendy Plante has turned, um, something over 51!

The little girl who loved music has maintained that lifelong affection to this day, and today I’m playing some of her favorite songs to mark this special occasion.

Dylan didn’t want to be left out on the celebration. He requested two songs that he hopes will make his mom smile and maybe even laugh!

I Love You, Sweetheart!

Good memories. I’d love to hear the story behind Cheech & Chong’s “Basketball Girl”!

      Thanks, Jim! 🥰
When Cheech & Chong were recording “Basketball Jones”, George Harrison was in the studio next door. Producer Lou Adler played the tape for Harrison who said he wanted to be part of it, and once he was on board, everyone else joined the team.
And what a team it was! Harrison on lead guitar, Klaus Voormann on bass, Carole King on electric piano, Billy Preston on organ, Nicky Hopkins on piano, Tom Scott on sax, Jim Keltner on drums, and The Blossoms and Michelle Phillips were the “cheerleaders.”

Music is a very special bond between us and it will never be broken.
That pic of Wendy and Dylan is one of my favorite photos of them.
By the way, “Basketball Jones” reached # 15 on the Top 40!
      Enjoy the sun!

A great mix of music for Wendy! I don’t remember “Basketball Jones”, but “Cow Patty” brought back some memories. My sister-in-law used get called that by her nieces & nephews. Of course, her name is Patty, and the song was popular when she was a teen-ager. She was the same age or younger than her nieces & nephews, and they loved to pick on her. (She is 20 years younger than my husband)

      Thank you, Pat 🥰
That is a fun memory … well, maybe not for your sister-in-law. 🤣
      Glad you enjoyed Wendy’s tunes!
