Tunesday is slightly different this week. Yes, it’s the usual collection of hit songs from the past, but the medley includes two instrumentals that both reached #1 in the 60s … and one of them came from (are you ready?) Lawrence Welk!
The medley also includes the first Top 10 hit for the Beach Boys, the first #1 song for Herman’s Hermits, a song released on this date by the Lovin’ Spoonful, the final Top 10 hit for Rick Nelson, and a lot more!
Soak Up These Memories! 🙂

A great Tunesday! I remember listening to Lawrence Welk with my parents. “Bridge Over Troubled Water” was always Bridge Over Troubled Waters for me. That song helped me often and still does! Thank you, Ray.
Jim
Thanks, Jim! Saturday evening with Lawrence Welk was always “must watch” TV for my parents. I usually found something else to do. 🙂
I’m very glad you enjoyed the medley!
Thanks for the medley memories
Was always sad about how Ricky Nelson went out…loved Garden Party
Thanks, Mary Helen 🥰
Ricky’s death was so tragic. At just 45, he was far too young It’s hard to believe it has been 38 years.
On a happier note, get ready for a Doo-Wop marathon tomorrow! 🙂
We watched Lawrence Welk every Saturday night, as well. My dad tolerated it because my mom loved it. And after there was Paladin and Gunsmoke. Loved Ricky Nelson and it was really sad when he died. Grat medley today. Thanks, Ray.
Thanks, Pat! 🥰
Great memories of some wonderful TV westerns! It was nice of your dad to watch Lawrence because your mom liked him. Very sweet!
