And So It Begins Again

Here we go again! It’s the beginning of the 18th year of playing memories from the soundtrack of your life. As I do every year, I’m beginning with George Harrison’s reminder that this is the time to “ring out the old, ring in the new.

To be completely honest, I came very close to ringing the whole thing out. I am approaching my 73rd birthday, and while that isn’t “old,” it is a reminder that time is slipping away and maybe it’s time to enjoy these so-called “golden years.”

I had a long discussion with myself (I do that a lot) and came up with a few changes. For starters, I will no longer post new medleys at 4:45 in the morning. From now on, it will be 6:00. I like the idea of an extra hour of sleep every day. In addition, the inclusion of “liners” is going to be drastically reduced. I don’t think people tune in to hear my voice. I think they listen to hear memories from their past.

One more thing. If my responses to your comments seem to be getting shorter, there is a very good reason for it. Following my car accident in July 2021, the use of my left arm and hand has diminished greatly, requiring me to type one-handed. I don’t want anyone to think I don’t appreciate the comments. It’s just getting more difficult to respond to them.

Wait, there’s another one more thing! Some of you receive an email with the link to the medleys. Others get via a private message on Facebook. There is a much easier way. Just type in Raylemire.com on your browser and bingo, you’re here! πŸ™‚

Happy New Year Ray. Had a rough year but they dug the cataracts out of my eyes. Catching a second wind

I think 6 am is a much more reasonable time to get up. That is generally when I rise.
Just so know…I do enjoy hearing your voice πŸ™‚
Be happy and do what is good for you!
    Happy New Year Ray
    As always, Thank YOU !

Whatever you decide to do going forward know how much we appreciate, and have appreciated, the musical link to our past you provide. Take care of yourself first in 2023 Ray.

Thank you, Marty. πŸ₯° I’m not going anywhere but I am going to try to make my life a little easier. I sincerely appreciate your very kind words.

Great message, Ray! I am gonna start making my posts a little shorter as well. I totally enjoy all of the efforts that you put forth in putting a medley together. This one was great, and conveyed a good message for a new year. I wish you all the very best, and please take care of yourself first before you consider any thing else.. We must all start, realizing the difference between enjoyment and responsibility. Think the world of you, and appreciate you! You’re the best! πŸ₯°

      Thank you, Sandy πŸ₯°
I hope my blog intro didn’t convey the message that I am completely falling apart. πŸ™‚ Other than a problem with typing and the need to use a cane to walk, I’m doing fairly well. I don’t want anyone to worry about me. There are millions of people much worse off than me.
And, young lady, I appreciate YOU!

Happy New Year to you and yours Ray. Jojo & Sammy (a foster bird I took in) loved dancing to the music. They both loved the Elvis tune the best. Have a great day and thanks. No need to reply, you do enough by putting these together for us all.

Glad you are making it easier on yourself
I’ve only been a working early riser so your post will always be there when I wake up
No need to make clever comments on our posts, but we know you want to say hey to your listeners in like a DJ of old
    Thanks for the easy link
I’ll be listening until you stop or I do

Happy New Year, Ray. Glad to hear you are taking care of you! Interesting medley-most I hadn’t heard in a long time. My favorites: the Beatles in 64, the Youngbloods and of course Elvis.
