It’s a FriYay mix of classic rock and roll hits and beloved Christmas novelty tunes from the past!
Next week I’ll be playing only Christmas songs throughout the week, and they will be the traditional (serious) songs associated with this very special time of the year.
Have a wonderful and safe weekend!

Thanks for the melodies & memories. Enjoyed today’s medley, made me think about rocking around the Christmas tree but it’s in a corner & your Christmas songs were perfect.
Thank you, Lee π₯°
So glad you didn’t mind those novelty tunes. π
Thank you for the Traffic shout out
Lately there are days when it seems to life is in a traffic jam Thanks for feeding the child in me with the holiday songs…smiled and sang along
Dylan sounded well!
Thanks, Mary Helen π₯°
I couldn’t have played Traffic without mentioning you! π
I’m glad your inner child sang along to those old Christmas songs. π₯°
Dylan is going through all of his pre-op tests. His surgery is scheduled for mid January.
Enjoyed them all. Thanks so much for what you do for us all. Take care and Happy Holidays to you and yours. I’ll not be on next week. Not really up to listening to Xmas music as this is going to be a hard holiday. Amy and I would have been married 40 years on the 27th, making Xmas & New Years very hard for me. See you after the 1st of the year.
Thank you for letting me know, Nancy. I am so sorry you are in such pain. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. β€οΈ
Great Friday mix again! Thank you for playing my JJ’s Bobby McGee! Nice to hear from Dylan – and “Paint it Black” by the Stones is one of my favorites! And, thank you, Wendy, for your part in making Memory Melodies happen. Hope everyone has a great Pre-Christmas Weekend,
Jim Waters
Thank you, Jim!
I’m happy you enjoyed Janis and the Stones!
My best wishes for a safe weekend! π₯°
Yay love starting it off with Buddy Holly! And Janis Joplin, still looking for her, and Bobby McGee, love this song! I loved hearing from Dylan, merry Christmas to you too son! And thanks for that great request for the Rolling Stones. Great to hear the shout out for Mary Helen and Wendy!! Fleetwood Mac, we sure will miss Christine. She was a very Intregal part of the group, and wrote so many of the songs. Thanks for the hippopotamus song, hadnβt heard that in a while. Made me laugh! And I certainly can remember the year that my mom and dad got us the chipmunks song on a 33 1/3 album. We played it to death. I can remember being told to stop playing the record! L O L. I loved ending with Gene Autry and Rudolph the red nose reindeer. Maybe one of the earliest carols that I can remember, as a little kid. Ray, this was fantastic. Iβm so happy that I waited till Sunday to listen to it when things are calm and quiet. There is no hustle, bustle, and we have a whole week to look forward to before Christmas arrives. Thank you so much for this, youβre the best! π₯°
Thanks, Sandy π₯°
I had to end with Mr. Autry. It just felt right. π
By the way, the “Hippo” song was for Dylan. He really loves them!
As you probably know, all of the coming week will be focused on songs delivering the true meaning of Christmas. I hope you enjoy them! β€οΈ
I am definitely looking forward to this coming week, as I am preparing for a Christmas dinner at my house with my Raleigh family. It will be a full table, with lots of prep work! Phew! It will be good to have the kids around. To home from college for the holiday. Thank you for all of your time and effort and for sharing your extended family with us! It just means the world.
Sandy, it looks like you have a very busy week coming up! It may get a little hectic but you will undoubtedly be smiling through it all! β€οΈ
Merry Christmas Sandy! π₯°
Merry Christmas Dylan! Hope Santa is good to you!
