Throwback Thursday (Again)

This is going to be a different type of Throwback Thursday. While it does feature eight classic rock and roll hits and three iconic Christmas songs (and here comes the different part), it also includes a Christmas “song” by me.

I hope you enjoy it all!

I sincerely appreciate the compliment. Every year when I play that “song,” I’m always concerned some people might think of me as the Grinch. I’m glad you don’t. ❤️

Your “song” really struck a chord with me. How simple life was back then. Sometimes I long for this simplicity to return for my kids and grandkids. Thanks for all these songs that bring back special memories, Ray.

      Thank you, Pat 🥰
I cherish those long ago days. I’m afraid our grandchildren will never get to enjoy the simplicity you and I both experienced. The world has changed and much too often, it has not changed for the better.

Wow, today you start with the song that my friend Angie Oliver Snell mentioned me singing a version to her (60’s) when I stopped to see her a coupla’ mos. ago. It’s the last song before the Christmas songs & since Ted is shopping I even tried a few dance moves. Your “song” makes me appreciate my family & friends who do come home for Christmas even if it’s with a message or a phone call. Caught up with Wed. & Thur. today. It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. 🙂

    1. Ray (Post author)

      Thanks, Lee 🥰
Once again, it’s nice that the music brings back such pleasant memories for you!
My “song” seem to have touched a lot of people today, and for that, I am very grateful!

Great way to start Thursday with Manfred Mann! Do you wanna Diddy Diddy dumb Diddy do! Loved the nod to Rosemarie! Be have always loved Jackie Wilson, and his lonely teardrops! I loved Roy Orbison‘s pretty pictures pretty ribbons, and of course Elvis‘s rendition of I’ll be home for Christmas was a huge hit with me. The song itself is and was my dad‘s favorite. Ray, I want you to know that your Christmas message was so touching and so right on the money. It really made me fill up with tears,, Thinking back to those days that we all lived in Springfield, Vermont. The simpler days with the real meaning of Christmas shining through. My wish is your wish, that we could get back to those times! And Ray, you are the best!🥰

      Thank you, Sandy 🥰
I am so glad I could bring back sweet memories of your dad with that song. As for my contribution, I am very pleased you enjoyed it. Those old days mean so much to me and I am thrilled they all came back to you and so many others. ❤️
