Chill Out Thursday!

Yesterday we were on the moon (and if you missed the trip, shame on you!) Today we’re going somewhere a lot different. We’re going back in time to find a “chill” spot in your soul.

And maybe it will help to beat the heat.

I loved this ❤️. Took me back. Adding Harry Chaplin would have been nice and I was hoping you put in Sylvia’s Mother for the Dr Hook song but I still loved it 🥰.

      Thanks, Jackie 🥰
I (honest-to-God) thought about adding Harry to this medley but once again I was concerned about making the mix too long. As for Sylvia’s Mother, that might be my favorite Dr. Hook song but it is so depressing and I thought it would be a mood crusher. It’s helpful, however, to know your “likes” so don’t hesitate to let me know. 🙂

Ray looks like you are hotter than we are maybe you better move down the highway!! Some how I don’t think life will pass you by!! I’ll share my dream Ray but I think I’ll wait untill I get my report back from Dr Hook! And I am in love beautiful women!! Life is grand!! Everybody does tell her(I sure got lucky)What a nice chill Ray still on my first cup!! I think sometimes we worry about tomorrow way to much we have today and some us may be lonley but Streamingoldies will cure that!! And we do have tonight! And this is America and we all need somebody. We must remember that the flower needs the rain and the winter needs the spring so it’s ok to need!(this is a Britt and a American band)Guess Who, Ray all the hurting will be on me!! So these eyes will stop cryin’ Cause we will wake up because this man says we will see another Sundown cause we will wake up to the promise of our dream world comin’ true!! Loved his voice smoking got him bad!! How many of us know this next song was the theme to Easy Rider! Think about it where that river flows it flows to the sea..We all want to be free(Ray I forgot how much I love this song)I’m going to listen to this song before I go!! Nice relaxing mornin’ It was nice to go less than the speed of sound

Thanks, Fred! I’m glad you enjoyed the slower pace today, but even so, your comments were, as usual, smoking hot! I think you are a storyteller at heart and creating these “stories” gives you a chance to get it out of your system! 🙂
      Love Ya!

Definitely found the chill spot! Songs were great set a mood on a very dreary morning here in NC. We have a storm on the way, the wind has been blowing since very early this morning, and though the songs were all very mellow, they all had happy tunes. Great selection! Gordon Lightfoot, The Guess Who, and Crosby stills and Nash!! Can never mess with these. Thank you so much for setting us up for the day, Ray! You’re the best!🥰

      Thanks, Sandy 🥰
I’m glad you enjoyed this but I should warn you that tomorrow is going to rock a lot more because it’s Friday!
      Stay safe in the storm!

Mellow but sad undertone of love lost and unrequited love
Nice medley for a hot day.
    Emotional chill

    1. Ray (Post author)

Yes, a sad undertone, but several of these songs, in my mind, captured the social mood of the late 60s and early 70s. The goal wasn’t “mellow, yet poppy.” It was “mellow” and nothing more … or less.

  5. Pat Conant

Soft is always nice, hard to be chill the last few days. Love Bob Seger, and Fred is outstanding, as usual!

      Thank you, Pat 🥰
This heat wave has been something else! I hope you’re managing to stay as cool as possible.

Has been a rough and long day so I thought I would listen to this one again to help me finish out the day (off in 45 minutes) and I noticed I didn’t acknowledge this medley .. part of my forgetfulness!
Absolutely love this medley .. could you imagine the additional hits we would have seen from Jim Croce had he not been taken so young!!! There are things I could say on every one of these as I absolutely love them all and sang along to all of them! Listened like 4 times yesterday and playing again today 🙂
We are headed into another scorcher weekend .. stay safe and COOL my friend!

      Thanks, Penny 🥰
Jim Croce died much too young. He was so talented and spoke from the heart with his music.
This heat wave is unbelievable. Mid 90s all week and now more of the same coming this weekend and beyond.
      Stay as cool as possible!
