Tomorrow I’ll begin a week long string of medleys featuring nothing but high energy rock and roll from the 50s, 60s and 70s. But today, I thought it would be nice to chill out on a lazy Sunday with classic mellow songs. It’s good for your soul.
If you’re not in the mood for the softer side, don’t even bother hitting that play button. On the other hand, if you’re in the mood for a calming medley, grab a cup of coffee, hit play, then sit back and relax.

A Lazy Sunday
Alan Parsons Project – Moody Blues
Heart – Wings – Gerry Rafferty
You dug deep for a few of these. Must admit I don’t remember hearing many of them before.
Nice way to start a Sunday morning Ray.
Thanks, Marty. Most of these songs were album cuts and yes, probably not familiar to many listeners, but I thought they set the mood quite nicely.
Ray you must have had your” Eye In The Sky” this AM!! This must have been a nice Project for you!! I had forgotten about this band they really were good!! Great guitat!! What can I say about the Moody Blues!! Heart an American band!! Ray remember Tim Storms(10 octives)Thought of this as one of the Wilson gals was know for having sang in alot of octives!! Anyway back to Heart!! Had to look them up as I thought I’d remembered them>>why I have no idea!! Well Wings!! I don’t remember this song however the voice and the Bagpipes rang a bell!! Mull of Kintyre what a great song!! I know it wasan’t Paul playing them but it would not have surprized me!! I think you know how much I like Paul(however I think Ringo out sings them all now)!! And to end with a Scottish singer how does your mind to that??!! Great music lesson Ray I worked for this one great songs for not being out there!! Oh well The King of the DJ’S did it again!! If you want to go low play a Tim Storms song!! Who had the most octives in a female singer?? Loved this mellow start to my day!!
love ya!!
Thank you so much, Fred. 🙂
I loved the Alan Parsons Project, and I see what you did “project” … very clever! I thought putting Gerry Rafferty (one of my favorite singer/songwriters) after Paul’s Scottish song was appropriate. 🙂
Love Ya!
Sad to say I didn’t really remember many of these except the ear worm Mull of Kintyre
Mellow as promised
Mellow was the goal, Mary Helen. If the music accomplished that, I’m content. 🙂
Sleepy, dreamy Sunday morning. Not familiar with most of these, but enjoyed them all!
Thank you, Pat 🥰
I’m very happy you enjoyed the music.
Ray, this was certainly relaxing! Loved the project, have not heard it very many times but I remembered the melody from it and some of the words, and heart, I have two maybe three CDs of theirs so I did recognize this song, and I’ve always thought the Impact of the voice was huge. And who doesn’t recognize Paul in the wings so I think for me, the bagpipes along with the voice of Paul is very penetrating. I’ve always connected the bagpipes with some thing sounding so forlorn and almost sad but still very melodic. Love that song I really didn’t know the Scottish singer I don’t know that I’ve ever listened to the music before but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I never listen to much moody blues but this was a nice selection. As per your usual talent you have come up with a very beautiful medley of pleasing quiet and heartfelt songs. Loved it! I know you’re waiting for me to someday say I didn’t like it at all. That’s probably never gonna happen. I am such a music lover, and I listen to so many different kinds of music. I have a symphony collection on CD, from all of the old signature artists going back to Beethoven and Strauss etc. and some very pounding Russian music, that I used to vacuum my house too. OK I’m rambling and rambling here it’s Sunday. Thank you so much ! You’re the best! ❤️
Thanks, Sandy 🥰
If you remember ‘Baker Street’ then you know that Scottish singer. 🙂
By the way, I love Bach!
A lovely set of Melodie’s on a mellow Sunday! Thank you Ray!! Well done. 👍🙏🎶
Thank you, Pete. I’m very happy you enjoyed it. 🙂
