July 1965

It’s a typical July day in 1965. No matter what you’re doing, you have your radio turned on and you’re listening to the latest hits on the Billboard charts.

If you live in New York City, you’re listening to Cousin Brucie; in Los Angeles, it’s Robert W. Morgan; in San Francisco, you have “Big Daddy” Tom Donahue tuned in; in Boston, it’s Arnie “Woo Woo” Ginsburg.

In Chicago, you have Art Roberts blasting the hits; in St. Louis, it’s Johnny Rabbitt; in Albany, you can’t go wrong with “Boom Boom” Brannigan; and in Toronto, you have John Dolan keeping you company.

No matter where you’re living, these are the tunes you’re listening to.
Enjoy!

Oh my gosh, so I remember cousin Brucie, boom boom Branigan, and woo woo Ginsberg! The others I don’t think I ever listened to. This was so cool some of my favorite songs oh my gosh Jay and the Americans all these fabulous songs, could you hear me singing just belting out those notes from all the way down here in NC trying to carry it up there to you guys in NH and VT. I’m pretty sure Fred summed it all up, as he always has the perfect blog. One that I look forward to each day. I’m so happy you’re going to be doing this all summer Monday through Friday. I’m sure you’ve noted that I haven’t been on the history lessons, as I do read them, just don’t always discuss or talk about. But there are a lot of things that you’ve brought up that I pretty basically didn’t realize or didn’t know all the facts and you always have all the facts! Thank you for this trip back through 1965, and as always – – – you’re the best! 🥰

      Thank you, Sandy 🥰
I can’t recall ever playing a medley you didn’t enjoy (and I appreciate that!)
Something had to give for the summer and while I really do enjoy putting together history lessons, music is, I think, the real reason people come here. The history will return in the fall but the medleys will be playing all summer … and yes, I could hear you singing!
