It’s another look back at rock and roll classics from the Sixties as I inch closer to my annual summer vacation (which, in the past, has always started in early March). This year’s break is still a week or two away because I’m having too much fun!
To be honest, not all of today’s songs “rocked” but they were part of the great music from 1964-1968 so I made an executive decision to include them. π

Ray we go back at least 40 years(more I think)and when you started in radio I said this kid has the right voice and he knows how to run a show!! So that’s how you got me and many more into your life!! Ray I was alone and I didn’t know what I would find there and when you started your show I knew you would be in my life!! To this day I don’t know anyone who can put to gether a set of artist and make them all fit!! Let’s take the Who for example!! The kids lied and lied and lied but they couldn’t hurt Jack!! And the waters lapping on his back so the moral of his story is they could not stop Jack from being happy!! Then the McCoys tried to put sloopy down!! Little did they know it didn’t matter that she came from the wrong side of town!! When Sloopy put her hair down on me she would shake it all over town so do you really think she had to hang on??? She would walk down the street singin’ Do wah ditty dum ditty do! Ray she looked fine I new I was going to make her mine how silly for Sloopy to hang on Shes mine and I think wedding bells are gonna chime so Ray let’s just sing it!! Do wah ditty ditty dum ditty do!! So now Ray(thanks pal)I’ve got to get up every morning just to keep a job!! (hardware at the time!! I’d load and you’d deliver)but Ray that’s ok as theirs a long hair girl who waits to ease my troubled mind So the 5 oclock world A day-a-lay-ee-ee it’s all worthwhile!! Ray I live near the beach but I sorta drifted to an east coast girl!! They look just as fine!! And the girls from Vermont know how to keep you warm at night!! The states still have the cutest girls in the world!! Be sides Ray if shes the Farmers daughter you know you won’t get shot a night!!Girls, girls ‘girls!! Ray I do hang under the Board walk and it’s on a blanket(young and in love)risky with all the people above!! Don’t worry Ray we’ll just be fallin’ love!! Yes sir under the boardwalk!! We stay until the the Sun beams find us!! But Ray when the Stars start to fade and I start to whistle it’s time to go!! love ya!!
Over 60 years, Fred. Does that mean we’re old? It certainly does not! We’re proof that friendships that are meant to last really do! Happy Fred and Happy Ray π
Well now, you’ve put together another wonderful masterpiece, and you even succeeded in getting your east coast bride into the mix. What do you do under that boardwalk? Hmm, maybe it’s best that I don’t know. π
You always manage to make me smile. ALWAYS! You are the great storyteller and your wit has managed to get me (and others) through some dismal days. Thank you for that!
LOVE YA!
Your break will be well deserved, as my Dad used to say we all deserve time off for good behavior and yours has been stellar bringing joy to our world
Wile you are away we’ll dream a little dream
Thank you, Mary Helen π₯°
Sweet dreams that leave all worries far behind you.
what a great medley .. have listened to a couple of times already and sang along with most of them … will listen again after lunch π
Have a great rest of your day my friend!
Thank you, Penny π₯°
I can always count on you to listen.
You Rock!
Under the boardwalk, thatβs where I wanna be! Oh my gosh this was so good, singing to every song, and appreciated the way all of it just seem to flow. I have always been a huge fan of The Who and The Beach Boys!! This was super bright enough there was one of my favorite medleys of all time. I also have to say that I totally enjoyed Fredβs story line again, and he deserves accolades for all of his efforts, as much as you do! This was superb! Youβre the best Ray π₯°
Thank you, Sandy π₯°
I am so pleased you enjoyed the medley! Just be sure you don’t get stuck under the boardwalk at high tide. π
Rock The Day, Sunshine! π₯°
I Learned to swim at a very young age, at my grandmothers on Lake Champlain! I started water skiing at age 8. My uncle told me you either stay up on the skis or Iβm gonna leave you someplace when you fall. I learned quick! No worries I promise not to stay under the boardwalk when the high tide comes in. π
I’m glad you took your uncle’s advice. π As for not staying under the boardwalk at high tide, that’s good because I wouldn’t want to lose you. π₯°
Another great medley, Ray. So many memories during these years, and music was a big part of the memories. Fred was outstanding, as usual.
Thank you, Pat π₯°
Music is the place we can always go when we need a place to think and remember.
