There are some songs that you heard so much “back in the day” that you are probably convinced they had to be major hits on the Top 40 chart of the Billboard Hot 100.
I’m here today to tell you that simply wasn’t true. Believe it or not, every song in this medley – every one of them legendary – failed to hit the Top 40, and in some cases, they missed by a lot!

Ray this first song you would think went higher!! Hence when you say put me in coach doesan’t mean you’ll make it to first base!! Gimme your money please sure did come from New York!! Born and raised there ain’t nothing you won’t see ’cause the streets are filled with bad going-ons no kidding Ray that ain’t the only thing you won’t see!! I think these boy’s were more than just in overdrive!! And to say that wasan’t that strange wants me to go back and see if I can get in the game!! I don’t want to be Petty Ray but that was a Heartbreaker!!(Great guitar)Hang on a sec Ray here comes my girl!! Ray when she puts her arms around me I forget about that trip to New York!! When she looks at me with those eyes I know we’re going to last forever!! She is all I’m ever going to need!! This was a Heartbreaker Ray but when the evening rolls around I’m going to see that Ice cream vendor and do it all again!! The words to this song have a great story!! So I guess I’ll say a prayer for the Pretender!! We won’t surrender!! It’s hard to believe David Crosby was in this group!! I think this song ended before the beginning and it never did hit bottom!! I like to know no I don’t!! Hard to believe this song went that high!! It doesan’t really matter anyhow! Ray I don’t know how you can find these songs I don’t remember you playing them back in the day!! That’s the reason why you are the master and don’t ever stop making us go back in time!! Love ya!!

What a surprise this is!! After having listened to every single one of these songs, which you’re also familiar to me I cannot believe that none of them ever made the top 40! Wow such a shame, but that’s what happens when things don’t get promoted properly, right? Always wondered what drives that song to make it other than promoting it and the public liking it. This was a great treat I really love this, And hope that you will add some of these in again in the future. You’re the best Ray! ❤️
