St. Patrick’s Day Medley

“May your thoughts be as glad as the shamrocks. May your heart be as light as a song. May each day bring you bright, happy hours that stay with you all the year long.”

Thursday is the day I have been playing country music but today is the day we all turn our attention to another type of country … Ireland.

So here is a collection of Irish music, ranging from traditional drinking songs to tender and revered ballads, because today really is about celebrating the heritage and culture of the Irish.

Ray my Mother was all Irish so in loving memory of her I’m going to give us all an Irish Blessing….May the road rise to meet you May the wind be always at your back May the sun shine warm upon your face May the rains fall soft upon your fields And until we meet again May God hold you in the palm of His hand. Ray what a great mix I’m so enjoying this!! Just remember when Irish eyes are smiling, sure, they steal your heart away!! Love ya Ray and Happy St.Patrick’s Day to you and all our Memory friends!! I shall end by saying Tooraloo(Goodbye for now. I’ll be seeing you!!)

Happy St. Patrick’s Day do you Ray and all of our music friends! I just loved some of the songs that I remember hearing my entire life from childhood on. And from the day that I was born and was accompanied on the way to the hospital to make my entrance into the world, my great grandfather Patrick Henry O’Neill Road with my mom and dad to the hospital. They say that he would have a little Irish whiskey and danced a jig, but that doesn’t hit my memory bank. God bless him if he did, and yes there’s a little Irish and my family so this was particularly fun to listen to. Of course I still filled up with tears to when Irish eyes are smiling, and Tooraloora And the greatest of all, Danny boy. This was such a treat. Thank you so much for putting this together! You’re the best Ray! 🍀❤️

Sandy, I am so pleased that these songs hold such meaning for you. I thought the last three songs simply had to be the ending, for they are the real spirit of Irish music.
      Happy St. Patrick’s Day!🍀 💚
