#1 Songs In 1974

Let’s start off the week with a medley of #1 songs from 1974.

You may not be wild about some of these tunes but the fact remains every single one of them reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in 1974, and it’s important to remember I could have included Kung Fu Fighting by Carl Douglas … but I’m a nice guy so I left it out even though it also hit the top of the charts. 🙂

Ray don’t worry I can help!! It sure would do me good to do you good! I’ll put in a good word for you for shooting the sheriff I know you did it in self defence but having back up singers saying you did is not helping our case!! At least you didn’t shoot the deputy down! I know John Brown and he was aiming to shoot you down!! But we do have a case as the bottom of the bucket did fall out!! It’s a Wonder to me how you get yourself in these kind of troubles!! All we want is the truth and nothing else so far all I’m hearing is Doo Doo Wop and you know that’s as cold as ice!! Now you want us to shake your tree at least you don’t want to hurt no one!! Ma ma is not worried cause you come on like a dream with peaches and cream!! And your beautiful! Sixteen wow!! What a Starr!! Ray do you remember?? I can still see her looking fast in her faded jeans!! Sundown better take care Ray you don’t want him creeping around your backstairs!! I know some times it feels like a sin Ray when your winning and I’m losing again!!
Ray spring is in the air!! And I will not say goodbye my friend we have had to much fun!! And we did have joy!! So Ray I’m not going anywhere I will beat this disease I have for we have to many more seasons in the sun!! love ya!!

Here’s to seasons in the sun! Couldn’t associate any better Fred!! This was like a trip back that I didn’t anticipate. I guess 74 I was just so busy with my family I can’t believe music didn’t hit me but some of these songs I just don’t have a big recall on. I recognize them don’t get me wrong but I just don’t recall listening to them. So this was a nice treat, always good to be refreshed. Thanks for this Monday morning wake up here we go with another week seem to be under our belts, the days go so quickly! You’re the best Ray!

      Thanks, Sandy 🥰
There were plenty of times around 1974 that I was so busy, I couldn’t tell you what was playing on the radio. So I understand what you’re saying. I’m glad you enjoyed this “refresher”!

I didn’t realize there were so many great songs in 1974! I was busy, too, with a newborn baby boy. I had started listening more to country music but I remember & like all of these.

      Thanks, Pat 🥰
I had a 3-year old and a 2-year old daughter in 1974. After I got home from work each day, they kept my hands full, but those were very good years. ❤️

Yes, Ray, looking back, they were very good years!!
