Country Music Legends

We turn our attention back to male country music singers today, but this time we’re focusing on some of the older – or traditional, if you will – stars of yesteryear.

These guys are legends and their songs – several of which crossed over to the pop charts – should conjure up very special memories.

Thanks, Don, for the very precise summary. Fear not, Buck’s day is coming. 🙂

WOW .. fabulous medley!! Some of the greatest country music has to offer! They may have paved the way for current country but I think current country kind of veered off the path, just my thoughts! I absolutely love them all. Is hard to pick but Conway has always been one of my top favorites but Waylon is right up there too and can’t forget the gentle giant. Merle was amazing and to think he got his inspiration in prison listening to the great Johnny Cash! When I got my first eight track player for my car way back when, one of my first tapes was Waylon! Marty Robbins had such a voice, like so many others, lost him way too young. Could you imagine the music all these greats (less Willie of course) are singing in heaven!!
I could go on and on but think I will listen to again instead.
Have a wonderful day sweet Mr DJ man!

      Thanks, Penny 🥰
These icons did indeed pave the way. Today’s lineup was kind of a Hall of Fame star-studded concert. I’m so pleased you enjoyed it!

Thanks, Fred! I looked at the artists I had in my database and choosing these nine was a no-brainer. They were all country, through and through, but even pop and rock fans loved them all!
Very happy it picked you up!
      Love Ya!

This was the greatest country hits but I grew up with, and in fact have all of those songs on my phone that I listen to in the car. This was probably one of the nicest collections that you could’ve ever put together for country!! Starting off with Conway, And ending with Charlie Rich. All of the wonderful in between. Just can’t say enough because I love every single song this is what I call nailing it! Excellent excellent must listen again later this afternoon. Thanks so much Ray! Oh one more funny thing is that when I saw the lineup of artists I am mediately thought of their hit song, and you chose them all ❤️
