Doo-Wop Ballads

Last week I put together a Doo-Wop medley and to be very honest, I suspected it might be greeted with a very large yawn.

I could not have been more wrong.

The comments I received absolutely floored me. Not only that but several listeners requested that I do another one.

I try to pick up the pace as the week goes on so playing a mellow medley on a Wednesday is a little out of the norm but hey, people asked so… 🙂

As I’ve said before I love Doo Wop.
Sure knew the tunes, but not many of the group names…the Spaniels?
Thanks for being our Earth Angel and sending us musical joy regularly.

      Thanks, Mary Helen. 🥰
In the early 50s there was a boon of “bird groups”such as The Orioles, The Flamingos, The Robins, and The Penguins. The Spaniels adopted (sort of) that idea but went the animal route, changing their name from Pookie Hudson & The Hudsonaires to The Spaniels.
I love the last sentence! 🥰

From one summers night too good night sweetheart! That pretty much sums it all up. Love the doo-wop music, and always will. This was fantastic in my humble opinion. Just listening and knowing all the words sometimes is everything. Not too sure on some of the artist groups names, much like everyone else, But it was certainly appreciated by me! Thank you so much Ray for putting this together. Sorry I didn’t get to listen to this yesterday I spent the day at the car dealership with my car trying to figure out what’s wrong with the battery. Still remains a mystery!
