Play This And Smile!

It’s another cold winter day and you may not be feeling too motivated. I have a remedy for that.

These ten epic songs from the Sixties should get your feet moving and maybe, just maybe, change your entire outlook on the day. If nothing else, it will definitely remind you what a great time we all had back then.

By the way, there ain’t nothing slow in this medley. πŸ˜‰

What a great way to start the day, (any day that begins with the Kinks)! Looks like today you are ticking off all my boxes. Ten rocking tunes. Interesting that you have a pretty even split between US & British bands. One comment, back in the day I got sick & tired of Paul Revere & The Raiders. I think the problem was over exposure. When Dick Clark had his half hour daily show broadcast from the beach they were the β€œhouse band” and were on every show. Time has cured me now and after 50 years I am happy to hear their music, I truly enjoy it now. Thank you Ray for putting together a most excellent medley.

Thanks, Don. I agree the Raiders were an overexposed band back in the “Where The Action Is” days. You couldn’t escape them. But yes, time does allow us to look back with fondness at a band that really did have some excellent songs.

So your going to get Kinky today!! You really got me now!! Now you want to hold my hand? You do have that somethin’ but remember you have a true love!!! I think we both have the fever!! Well we were just Young Rascals at the time we’d sit and feed the Byrds and remember how we’d be Rolling Stones and you’d say this would be the last time and I said oh no no!! Then you said you were feeling glad all over and the girls would stay for ever!! Remember how your baby did the hanky panky…then my girl would do the hanky panky then she said I must go the next thing I knew it was past 4:30 so I tried that magic carpet ride and all I saw was Monkies!! And you said Fred That’s alright I’ve got the fastest car around and don’t worry I do get around!! Stay warm love ya!!

Fred, that was one hell of an adventure! I do love the way your mind works!
Staying warm but we have 5-8 inches of snow coming on Saturday.
Stay Cool … and Love Ya!

Tunes from artists from our formative years.
    Singing along
    Smiling

    1. Ray (Post author)

Mary Helen, I could be stuck on a deserted island and if these were the only songs I could listen to, I’d be content.
If you’re singing and smiling, I am very, very happy. πŸ₯°

  5. Sandy Gaither

Well you got me jumping around now, wish I could pipe this outside. I could finish cleaning the snow off the driveway. It’s mostly melted but it looks messy now. Nothing like New England that’s for sure I hope you guys are staying warm up there. This was fantastic, and I loved every song every minute every second! You outdid yourself on this one! Nobody better be sitting down doing nothing after this! Love it Ray and you!’

Ms. Gaither, please allow me to say YOU ROCK! ❀️ ❀️

great medley .. am listening and singing again.
You are THE MAN .. mr DJ Man. You have such a heart of gold to share these medleys with all of us, you may not realize how your sharing of the music and the great music itself touches all of us but you do and the music does.
Have a wonderful day my friend.

Penny, you may have no idea how much your comments mean to me but they certainly do.

Turning up the sound was the best way to listen to this medley.
All great memories but my favorite in this batch was Paul Revere and the Raiders – All good and they absolutely make the doldrums of the winter fad for a bit. No doubt you’re rocking this day! Stay safe out there …. the world is crazy, but this music helps us forget that for a bit.

And ….. we all get around …. and that’s a good thing!

    1. Ray (Post author)

      Thank you, Barbara. πŸ™‚
Music is the great healer and in times like this, we can surely all use the healing we can get.
      ROCK THE DAY!

  8. Peter

Thanks Ray for an exhausting listen. First, my right started tapping. Then next, it was my left foot. Then I got up and started moving my whole body to the music. My wife saw me dancing, asked to join and if we went. Damn near killed us but boy, the memories and the fun we had were an absolute blast. Only took us a day to recover!!! Thank you, says me smiling like a Cheshire Cat!! β€οΈπŸ™πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸŒˆπŸ˜πŸ™ƒ

Peter, now that I have stopped laughing, it sounds like you had the house a-rockin! πŸ˜‚
      Very glad you enjoyed it!

Great get up & go songs today. Glad to see Don back with a comment & Fred was in top form today. Love reading all the comments, almost as much as listening to the music.

Yes, it’s nice when Don and Fred comment because they both add a lot to the conversation.
