Rock Hall’s First Class

This one is very special. On January 23, 1986, the first class of music legends was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

These artists, boys and girls, were what rock and roll music was all about. They were, and still are, the royalty of the genre.

Hey, hey, hey, what can I say: It’s a special Sunday ’cause there’s music from Ray. Have listened to your much enjoyed 60’s medleys this week or should I say last week & even looked for one on Friday. Started thinking I didn’t know what day it was; then today I asked Ted to make sure it was Sunday 🙂 I’ve said it before & will say it again so glad I grew up during the time the music was sooo good. Thanks for the music & the memories including my trips to the R&R Hall of Fame.

Thanks, Lee. I took Friday off and even though I rarely post any medleys on the weekend, I thought the significance of the first class in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on this date warranted doing it.
As always, I am very pleased you enjoyed it. 🙂

What a great medley and tribute to when getting into hall of fame was great artists and an honor!! The 60’s and 70’s had the best musicians and music that tests the hands of time and will be around long after we are gone (unlike most of the music today)
Rock on dear friend and stay warm!!!

Thank you, Penny. What a great class that was! Those musicians laid the foundation for so many other great artists and they were all very deserving of being inducted. I can’t say that about a lot of other musicians who get inducted today.
I’m so glad you enjoyed the music!
Rock on and stay safe! ❤️

Hey, Mr DJ, keep the records playing! What’d I say-I loved this medley. A surprise for a Sunday morning. You rock, Ray.

This was, and still is, the greatest of all time. I actually owned every single one of these songs oh my gosh it is like déjà vu listening to it. Yes yes no one could ever match this again in my estimation these are the greatest artist of all time and they deserved all the accolades that were given I could just listen to this 24/7. Thanks so much Ray what an awesome collection.

      Thanks, Sandy ❤️
Back when music was actually music! These guys are the real royalty of rock and roll. There has never been a more deserving entire class. If only the Hall of Fame had stayed true to their mission. Sadly they didn’t.

Thank you for getting my heart pumping!! You are right I wished the Hall of Fame stayed true to the musicians that deserved it!! Great Balls of Fire how did I miss this!! I just got this!! Ain’t that a shame!! When ever I have a coke I think of the best DJ on the radio!! Let me tell ya Mr. DJ you know how to get us dancin’!! Gotta run Ray but as always you put the best on!! Stay warm(watch the girl with the red dress on) love ya!!

Thanks, Fred. That list of musicians is mind blowing! They laid the foundation for everything that followed. I shudder to think what music in the 60s would been like without these immortals.
      Love ya!
