When I woke up at 2:00 this morning, which is, by the way, normal for me, I made the mistake of glancing at news headlines.
I decided it might help put all the frustration and tension on hold if people could spend 20 minutes or so listening to music designed to soothe their nerves.
This medley of songs from some very legendary crooners may not be the answer … but hey, it can’t hurt.

A Soothing Medley
Johnnie Ray – Mills Brothers – Frank Sinatra
Nat King Cole – Brooks Benton
Billy Eckstine – Dean Martin
Ray there is nothing better than walking my baby back home!! I think you would of made a great cab driver!! Even if you are old at heart fairy tales do come true!! And we both know why Mona Lisa had that look on her face!! And Nancy is my love!! It’s love for my foolish heart!! It it’s clear how Dino feels!! Great choices my old finder of great tunes!! Have a great day!!!
Sir Fred, another wonderful song connection! You still have it, my friend.
Have a very calm day!
Oh Ray you’ve done it again! Do you anticipate the mindset of all fellow music lovers, it’s no small feat! This was absolutely the best, and I enjoyed every single song and sang along with. I feel like I might be in a different mood now. I think this is especially appropriate that you selected the day that we go back on standard time. Because you just know everybody is up with their dogs and cats. Mine would not let me sleep past 6 AM. Again thanks, for the wonderful crooners that you selected for us! You’re the best
Thank you, Sandy 🥰
You always deliver the most beautiful comments! I just thought it was a good day for a change of pace. I’m glad you didn’t mind.
Thanks again for a very relaxing start to my day. Not even sure I want to watch Meet the Press now, unless much of it recounts Colin Powell’s life. My husband was a lover of country music, especially the ballads, because he could “understand the words”. He would have enjoyed these for the same reason. Thanks again, and make it a great day!
Thank you, Lynda. 🥰
I am so glad you enjoyed it. I share your admiration of Gen. Powell. He truly was an American patriot!
Ted & I are caught up with our music to “groove” with this Sunday Morning. In my spare time I have been reorganizing my orchid room (the color not the flowers) into my music room with records & 8-tracks. Been sorting & alphabetizing the 78’s & 33 1/3’s. What an eclectic mix. Still have the 45’s & a few 78’s left to do. Can play everything from records to CD’s. My 13 yr. old great grand daughter got a phonograph for her birthday so shared some older records with her. Has nothing much to do with your medley but explains why I enjoy listening to them. Thanks for the morning music today. Playing off Fred’s comment I had a Dr. from the 70’s + that told me I reminded him of Mona Lisa; not the face just the long dark hair. Before that my Dr. was Fred’s Dad. He did the blood work or whatever before I got married in 1968. No significant musical insights just memories. Have a good day
all 🙂
Thanks, Lee,
YOUR MEMORIES is what this is all about! It doesn’t necessarily have to be about the music I played, and with that said, your commentary was wonderful! 🥰
I’m young at heart…still hoping for another fairy tale 🙂
That, Mona Lisa, and walking my baby were the ones I was familiar with… a wonderful break as you predicted 🙂
Thanks Ray
Thank you, Eileen 🥰
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Fairy tales DO sometimes come true 🙂
What a great treat to end the week-end, I actually listened 3 times 🙂 Just seeing Dean Martins name on the list brought back memories of my parents reel to reel and the tape / album (whatever you would call it) that my parents had of him – I listened to the tape over and over!!
Thanks for picking the perfect medley for this crazy fall back day …… you are the best!
Thank you, Penny ❤️
What a lovely memory you shared! If you listened three times, it’s safe to say you really enjoyed it!
Slowly catching up with the medleys I missed. Love this. It was indeed soothing, on this rainy Saturday. Great songs, great voices.
Thanks, Pat. Take your time. THe medleys will be here when you are ready to play them. 🥰
