TGIF! If you’re in the mood for something on the quiet side, you’re in the wrong place today. Friday is the one day of the week when there are no set rules: no specific genres and no specific decade.
I like to think of it as “anything goes Friday” and today it is dedicated to Don Doyle, my brother from a different mother as he celebrates a birthday! π
It’s a high energy rock and roll medley designed to get his birthday (and your weekend) off to a rousing start. If this medley doesn’t get your feet tapping, I have failed … miserably.

Good Morning, Ray. Wow, my very own medley, what an honor! I feel speechless, but you know me Iβll get over that real fast. Funny that you started with Summer of β69, that was a pivotal year for me. That was the year I graduated from college, got married and got my first full time job. It was a busy Summer to say the least. Interestingly enough I always thought when I got a full time job I would quit my part time gig at the record shop. No way, it was way too much fun. I could not envision losing that discount. Music has been a constant in my life. I can lose myself in it , so many memory markers. My wife kids me that the room where the record albums reside is going to collapse and bring the house down. Iβm not worried. Thank you Ray for the birthday surprise, I had absolutely no idea. A very special way to start my day. You pushed all the buttons. Thank you my friend, you made my day. ROCK ON!
Thank you, Don, and Happy Birthday!
Good to know that I can still pull off a surprise every now and then!
I don’t want to get all sappy and syrupy but I have to say connecting with you has been one of the best things about creating this site. I am constantly amazed by our similarities when it comes to music. Our moms would have been proud!
I hope this day is filled with other surprises for you and by the time the day ends, I hope those surprises become cherished memories.
ROCK THE BIRTHDAY!
Happy Birthday, Don. FYI: Love reading your comments every day!
Thanks, Pat.
Don does have a way with words. π

Thank you, Pat. What a nice compliment.
Happy Birthday, Uncle Don!!! Your Brother in Music chose some incredible rocking hits to celebrate YOU! As I’ve said, reading your comments to each other and seeing all you have in common has been really enjoyable. I hope you have a great birthday and party like a rock star!

Wendy, thank you very much for the B-Day wishes. I am Happy to share my Birthday month with you. As always, Ladies first, you get to start the month off and I am happy to follow. Itβs been a busy week. I will celebrate my big day by getting my second COVID vaccine shot. Not a bad present. Then on to the celebration! Thanks again and have a great weekend.
