Rock Factoid: With The Beatles was screenwriter Alun Owen, who had been appointed to write the screenplay for The Beatles’ first (as yet untitled) motion picture. Owen spent three days with the group observing their hectic, chaotic lifestyle. From that experience, Owen was able to write A Hard Day’s Night.

Jim Morrison of The Doors – intent on seeing “Phoenix flip out” – provoked nearly 500 teenagers into rushing the stage, creating a war between the crowd and security. Morrison came close to getting arrested himself for using obscenities and lewd behavior. Charges were filed but later retracted as the city of Phoenix decided to simply ban The Doors from ever playing there again—1968

Rock Factoid: The original plan called for Mike Rutherford, Phil Collins and Tony Banks to reunite as a five-piece with Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett for live performances of ‘The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway’. However, as time went on, Gabriel would not commit to a date, and without Gabriel’s participation, Hackett decided to pass on the reunion.
With those two missing, the band recruited longtime tour musicians Darryl Stuermer and Chester Thompson to fill out the project. They dropped the “Lamb” idea and focused on playing old hits dating back to 1973.
