Valentine’s Day Medley

“This will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before.”
~Leonard Bernstein

As I sat down to prepare something special for Valentine’s Day, I remembered doing the same thing two years ago. That went over so well I couldn’t think of one good reason why I shouldn’t repeat it last year so I did. And once again this year, I’m thinking it makes very little sense to ruin a good thing.

And so…

This is no ordinary medley but then again this is no ordinary day. This Valentine’s Day Medley, which is just short of two hours long, is filled with nothing but love songs from a variety of musical genres; pop, rock, country and crooners.
There are love songs for the young and love songs for those who are older.
One song in particular – the final one – reminds us that love lives long beyond the grave.
I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed putting it together. It was, I assure you, a labor of L-O-V-E.

Good Morning, Ray. Well you must have been working overtime today. Two hours of pure enjoyment. ( a little longer for me because I had to stop and start several times. 3 times from the beginning,). What a great variety of tunes. Some I remembered, others I had forgotten all about but all stirred up good memories. Thank you Ray for adding to the holiday in such a pleasant & memorable fashion. ( I noticed you snuck in Status Quo for you & Chris Hillman for me.) Thanks.

      Thank you, Don.
To be honest, it was difficult to stop but as I approached the 2 hour mark, I realized I had to.
The Chris Hillman song says it all. I have so many friends (including Penny, whose name I’m sure you have seen) who have lost a spouse or partner and I added his song at the end as a reminder to them that love never ends.
ROCK ON, MY BROTHER (and Happy Valentine’s Day to you and your bride). ❤️

What a wonderful Valentine medley. Short story .. when Still together came out Dennis and I looked at each other and chuckled. Could have sworn it was written about us. From day one, there were so many that said we wouldn’t make it ……..
I don’t remember ever hearing the last one ……. kind of bittersweet for me. Take care and stay warm my friend.
