Turn It Up To 11

It’s Friday and that’s the day when anything goes. No particular decades, no particular genres, no set time limits.

Over the past two days, I have pretty much played it mellow but since the weekend is upon us, it’s time to get everyone up and moving with a serious dose of heavy-duty rock and roll from the 60s, 70s and 80s!

I strongly suggest you crank it up โ€ฆ no, I mean really crank it up. ๐Ÿ™‚

Good morning,Ray. Todayโ€™s selection I think is pretty melodic in my opinion. With the exception of AC/DC screaming, you donโ€™t need to blow out your speakers to enjoy these classics. Queen, AC/DC and Led Zeppelin all have reputations for being consistently loud but the rest of the crew represented here today really donโ€™t need to overwhelm the listener with volume to get their point across. I view these acts as traditional Rock & Rollers and isnโ€™t that why we are all here, because we love Rock & Roll? Thank you for a nice Rockinโ€™ way to start my day.

      Good morning, Don.
“Crank it up” was an attempt at a joke because while many of the acts may be considered traditional rock and roll bands, I tend to think they are a far cry from bands such as the Beach Boys, Chicago, Box Tops, Byrds, Animals, etc.
I have come to realize (based on responses) that a very large majority of listeners are females and the reactions to various medleys indicate quite strongly that they prefer “memory” songs, and memories is why I do this. I can’t believe many people fell in love while listening to Led Zeppelin or remember a special event because Loverboy was playing when that event happened.
As I explained on Facebook, much of the blame for the decline in hits was due to the fact that I chose to add deep album cuts and Forgotten 45s. Perhaps they were forgotten for a reason and I take full responsibility for changing the direction of the music. When I had the active stream, I had more listeners than I ever anticipated and there wasn’t a deep cut or Forgotten 45 in the entire database.
Of course that’s just my opinion and we shall see, as time rolls on, if the reaction from the “special memories” music gets a positive reaction.
The reversal back to what I once did does not mean listeners are going to be missing out on the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Kinks or the Dave Clark Five. It doesn’t mean a medley will be nothing but “slow” songs. It’s just getting back to the basics.
      ROCK ON, BRO!

Today’s medley was great. I added a little dancing bear to my feed that I saw while browsing FB & listening. Have a good weekend ๐Ÿ™‚

Last few day’s have been crazy hence giving me mud on my face! I loved the last few days and you know we all want to change the world so it is understandable that you would change your format!! I had to crank it up on my ride through the highway to hell!! I thought AC/DC had something to do with electricity! Do you think Neil Young will remember where the skys are blue? I forgot the Queen, I’m sure the Mercury level was high back then! So Ray Guess Who I ran into the other day? Can you believe Tom Petty was shopping at Walmart!! It looked like he was having a lonely time. Yes it was tuff enough to bring back the Heartbreaking memory of him losing that fabulos thunderbird! I thought Loverboy would show up, seems he was waiting for the weekend!! Rock on, be mellow just keep it up!! Stay safe!!

Yes, there will be a few changes coming along but nothing at all drastic.
