Good morning, Ray. What a line up! All favorites. It seems like yesterday I was listening to all these hits. Literally. The Lovin’ Spoonful always seemed so happy on each of their songs. Their songs are so singable, hummable. Just fun a unique style. Canned Heat were in a world all their own. Only a few hits, but what hits they were. It seems strange to hear them on an insurance commercial, but totally appropriate in a weird way. Counter Culture to the mainstream in only 50 years! Who would have thunk it? Iron Butterfly is thought of as a one hit wonder, but what a hit! Recently a 2 disk cd of their concerts at the Fillmore East was released. It is amazing! Really: Really good stuff. The Vouges, Len Barry & Freddy “Boom Boom” Cannon show. That what was becoming old fashion Pop still had a place on the charts and in our hearts. Good, catchy, tunes that made you happy you had your transistor radio with you. Oh boy, the Chambers Brothers. What a message they brought us. You could listen to this song all day and with the longer version I did! Ray you are definitely mining Solid Gold today. I bet you had fun putting this mix together for us today. I know I had fun listening to it again. Thank you, can’t wait until tomorrow, going to be good I bet. Keep on Rochin’ Ray.

      Thank you, Don.
I’ll admit I have more fun putting these together when I’m playing the 60s. Sure, there are songs from the 50s and 70s that still rock my soul but the 60s always stand out for me.
The long versions from Iron Butterfly and The Chambers Brothers are mesmerizing. Maybe someday I’ll put together a medley of “long” songs and include those two gems.
Tomorrow is going to be, I hope, something very special.
Have a great day and stay safe in this storm!
      ROCK ON, MY BROTHER!

Quick thank you. Listened to today’s medley while browsing FB. Since the music had me moving in my chair from the beginning I used it to stretch out achy muscles this morning. I remember Mrs Link telling me you can only do one thing at a time but…guess I never learned that. Loved today’s medley 🙂

      Thank you, Lee. 🙂
So glad you enjoyed the music and you brought back memories of Mrs. Link as a bonus!
      Have a great day!
