Another Country Christmas

Here’s the problem. There are so many wonderful Christmas songs to play but if I wait until December 14th to start playing them (and I did this year), I run out of time to fit them all in.

That means I needed to put together another Country Christmas medley. It starts out a little fast and “contemporary” (Don D. and Buddy L. will like it) but gets more and more “traditional” as it moves along (Pat C. will love one of those. So will Wendy P. and Joan E.).

I hope you like them, too🙂

Another great medley today Ray. Any mix that kicks off with George Strait has me from the get go. His voice is so soothing and his calm delivery is captivating. Jimmy & Kenny like to sing about Christmas with sand and palm trees and that’s all well and good but I prefer a nip in the air and maybe even a little snow, ( I know that’s a sore subject for you today! ). They do make it sound very welcoming. Glen, John, Alan and even Kenny today show how talented they are with their beautiful treatments. They really set the holiday mood.
Thank you Ray for putting together a wonderful set for all of us today. .

      Thanks, Don.
I wanted something “peppy” to start and Strait drew the assignment. 🙂
I have always enjoyed Chesney’s version of Silent Night and hearing him harmonize with the Grigsby Twins (his mother and her twin sister) is quite beautiful.
Snow is a very sore subject today but hey, it’s winter so go with the flow!
      Have yourself a wonderful day!
      ROCK ON, BRO!

This is so great and a lovely way to start the day! I enjoyed all of them and yes, Glen brings back lots of memories! I’ve noticed (or maybe I’m not paying attention lol) no matter the genre, it is no longer a tradition for current pop stars to record a Christmas tune. I love these older ones the best anyways. You are keeping our Christmas Spirit meters at full capacity! XOXOXOXO

      Thanks, Wendyl ❤️
I’ll be honest, I didn’t spend much time looking for “new” Christmas music by current performers. I believe the tried and true “old” music is filled with so many memories of Christmas past for most listeners.
I am, as always, very happy you enjoyed Glen and the rest.
      XOXOXOXO

        My preference as well, 100%

Commenting that it seems to be a tradition gone by, not that I’m complaining…the few I have heard are of little interest to me.

        Oldies all the way!!!!!

Today I’m listening during my lunch break. Listening to these makes me stop and think about why we love Christmas music. I think it’s because it’s about family, home, and the birth of Christ. Those are all pieces of our lives that we cherish and want to hold onto. It’s too bad we couldn’t hold onto the warm feelings this time of year generates in us Ray …. thanks for giving us an opportunity to reflect, relax and enjoy. Rock this beautiful sunny day my friend …

      Thank you, Barbara.
I must tell you next week will REALLY focus on the reason for the season. Up until now, it’s been a slow buildup but the buildup ends on Monday and kicks into high gear on Tuesday! I am so pleased you have enjoyed the music this season.
      ROCK THE SUNSHINE!
