Shifting from yesterday’s Christmas story, we get back to music today with the focus on country artists.
This is not the only country music we’ll be playing during this stretch of 10 days of Christmas music, but it’s a good way to begin enjoying the spirit of the holidays.
There are a few sentimental favorites, one or two “novelty” tunes, and we end with a beautiful father-and-daughter gem.

Country Christmas Medley
Alan Jackson – Chris Young – Anne Murray
George Strait – Old 97s – Kenny Chesney
Vince & Jenny Gill
Ray, what a perfect mix today! You have it all, traditional, new & comic tunes all celebrating the upcoming holiday.
Alan Jackson is the perfect choice to kick things off. Calm and sincere his delivery is right on. Chris Young is sincere and Anne Murray sweet, Iām loving it.
George Strait, he must be the king of mellow. I love the way he calmly explains the importance of Christmas cookies. I could not agree with him more. His rationale is spot on. I need a cookie now.
Old 97s & Kenny Chesney continue nicely and Vince Gill and his daughter are simply wonderful!
Thank you, Ray for a great musical start to a most special season.
P.S. Alan and George are all time favorites of mine.
Don, you made my day with these comments! Yes, I HAD to set the tone with Alan Jackson, one of my favorites.
ROCK ON, BRO!
P.S. I hope you enjoyed your cookie š
Ray what a great mix!! When Nancy’s dad was dying Nan sent a note to George Strait saying that he was her dad’s favorite singer and we were so happy he wrote Jack back!! So to play this at this time was perfect!! Merry Christmas Ray!!
Fred, that is a lovely and touching memory! Goes to show what a class act George Strait is. I’m happy you enjoyed the mix and I’m sure having George in it was a nice bonus for Nancy and you.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Christmas music is so wonderful! And you picked some amazing songs today!
Thank you, Donna.
It’s kind of difficult to go wrong with Christmas music. š
Ray, you know I have always said music is food for the soul BUT Christmas time and Christmas music is special! Love all these songs, kind of helps put a lot of things into perspective with the crazy year we are having! I know we all say it BUT thank you for all you do, especially in the times we all live in now ………. is such a breath of fresh air to play your music medleys!
Thank you, Penny ā¤ļø
I sincerely appreciate your kindness. I’ll tell you a little secret: I may have a rock and roll heart but I LOVE putting together Christmas medleys more than anything else.
Thank you so much for such a great variety, and for the fantastic memories that come with these songs.
Thank you, Victoria. š
It is my pleasure! Thank YOU for listening and taking the time to comment!
Merry Christmas, Ray. Some great songs, and great singers, today. I could listen to Vince & Jenny sing “Let There Be Peace On Earth”, all day. A beautiful song & a perfect message. Let it begin with me-if only everyone would take it to heart.
Thank you, Pat. I love the Gill duet and I thought it was a great way to end the medley.
You’re right, it would be glorious if more people heeded the call.
